Because you only see the item name in MTS unless you hover your mouse on it. When you put a certain item for cheap inside MTS, it will show up on the newest tab page. Merchanters quickly buy cheap scrolls and apparently someone thought that it was a GM scroll. If he would have checked the item description first, he would be scared to lose his -good- deal.

Ah, I thought so. But yea, it doesn't make any sense since the colours are different.

Not really a scam, he just simply put a 100% scroll in MTS, and someone bought it . You can't get 'scammed' when it's a simple trade, if anything the person was just ripped.
