What do you think about Haiti

As the poorest and least developed country in North America.
What could have caused them to fall down so hard? Why is it so different from Dominican Republic?
Was it the French ruling?

I laugh at the people who thought i was wrong.

But anyways, @Klydekiss: I mean, I don't understand how Haiti turned out so bad. Many Island in the Caribbeans were decently successful at business such as off shore banking and vacation spots. Haiti should have been better, but i guess deforestation and corruption are the main problems?

Unfortunately Haiti doesn't even have a middle class. Its only the rich and poor. The government there is more corrupted than the US and they've had the same president since ever. They are the first to get independence but they aren't using it to its fullest. Its very unfortunate.

But the French possibly could have damaged that nation when they forced them to pay a huge sum of money. The French were actually supposed to pay Haiti back but never did.

North America (Canada, U.S.A., Mexico) and Central America are traditionally grouped together as "North America."
If Central America is to be classified as it's own continent, it should be tought as the smallest. But Europe still is.

They angered the volcano God, or the earth crust God. Obviously earthquakes are not wise to bring upon yourselves.

I don't think the French had anything to do with it.

It's sad that everyone was concerned about the earthquake of Haiti in 2010 and everyone forgot about it a few weeks later.

A nation built on a slave revolution is bound to fair poorly. Slaves were important from all over Africa. Can't expect too much unity from them.
