Or maybe if the US and coalition forces would just get the hell out of their country they wouldn't have any problem?
Please don't tell me Al-Qaeda is purposely targeting their own family, and fellow civilians. It doesn't make any sense and makes you look like a fool.

Does this ring a bell?

So the only reason the suicide bombers are blowing themselves up and killing civilians is because the United States is over there? Think about it... even if that were true that's not a good reason at all to target and kill civilians in suicide attacks. Yes I have heard about the U.S. soldier who killed 11 Afghan civilians, and that is absolutely unacceptable. Remember though he was not acting under orders when he did that. I can understand that after several tours and seeing some of his friends die that he would become unstable, but that does not excuse it. Hopefully he will face justice. As for your second link, I've pointed this out many, MANY times, the 'civilian death counts' almost always include civilians who were killed by suicide bombers and other acts that were not caused by the United States, I'm sick of every time a suicide bomber kills dozens of people or a roadside bomb destroys a bus carrying civilians people point their fingers at the United States; they should be pointing their fingers at the savages who are blowing themselves up.
Leveling entire geographies isn't an option, and the very notion of launching predator missiles at suspicious-looking civilians as an alternative should be a red flag that insurgents are no longer the aggressors in this war.
Leveling entire cities and geographies certainly is an option, but not one that we like to use because, unlike Al Qaeda, we actually do make an effort to keep civilian casualties to a minimum. You think Al Qaeda would have spared the lives of the people in the hijacked planes and WTC towers if they could? What about the civilians they purposely target in suicide bomb attacks? I somehow doubt it. I understand it can be argued that 'intent makes no difference when civilians die' and while that is true to a certain extent, if Al Qaeda would just stop with their pointless violence and move on to the 21st century then there'd be no more need for predator drone missile strikes.
What do you think the human cost of drone strikes is?
A lot lower than completely leveling the whole country and every city where Al Queda's presence is suspected. What do you think the human cost of suicide bombers and road bombs is? The U.S. certainly isn't responsible for civilians killed in those attacks.

And rlbmut, in response to your comment, the reason they were able to repel the Red Army is largely because of the weapons we gave them.
For a third-world militia, I'd call draining a world superpower of financial stability and utterly disrupting its political processes a success.
I think it's only fair to point out the only reason they've drained so many of our resources (which again amounts to less than a tenth of our total deficit) is because we took the more demanding route of not trying to destroy that country completely (and make no mistake we have that capability). I guarantee that if Al Queda had the military power and weapons we do they wouldn't be so generous to the United States, they'd level us completely and effortlessly.

Only took them ten years to realize it... They picked a fight with the strongest military force in the history of the world, what did they think was going to happen?
