I see threads all the time asking "What anime should I watch?" With this hopefully we can cut that down a bit.
So share with everyone your favorite anime! Give a discription of what its about; just don't spoil anything in case someone will or is watching it. Maybe explain why you like it. Give the readers a reason why they should watch your favorite anime. Just start throwing them out there people.

Nichijou because decent comedy that isn't too over the top moe.
fav anime series: *ano hana, naruto, *honey and clover,eureka7 doee
fav anime movies: *tokyo magnitude 7.0, *the girl who leapt through time, 5cm per second
the girl who leapt through time is about time travel.. really emotional towards the end, a well thought out plot I watched it today and it made me tear up.. i would've cried if only my dad wasnt near me
tokyo magnitude made me cry so much.. its about an earthquake that invades japan.. oh my gosh it was 4am in the morning and i was crying while staring at my laptop
naruto i grew with this anime for over five years..
5cm per second.. oh my gosh this changed my outlook on love
honey and clover taught me a lot about relationships and it changed me.. somehow to see the bright side out of every unfortunate event
ano hana by far made me cry the most out of any anime.. my tshirt was soaked x.x because i cried so much at the end.. it was 6am i woke up early just to watch anime without anyone seeing me cry

And I've entered a recent Mahou Shoujo phase with Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Heartcatch Precure.
And One Piece, both anime and manga I really like.

it's sort of a sci-fi about humans and another species. lessons on humanity/society are quite thought-provoking.
it's a little graphic, but it's all worth it!
If I really think about it, it's probably Dragon Ball z. I loved that anime so much back in the day. It had action, good music, and a good story. There was a lot of fillers in that anime, but watever. Also old pokemon was really good (from kanto - end of jhoto). One piece was a really good anime, though stopped after episode 80 or something. And KissXsis is amazing. Best anime ever!
Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai- This made me shed tears when I thought that I couldn't anymore.
Naoki Urasawa's Monster is and might damn well always will be my favourite.
@RedhandsXN: Though an ending is a plus, you're only judging things on assumptions which is an illogical decision; the rationale is jump before looking. It's one thing to judge series that are almost done airing, but both Space Bros and Hyouka are barely half-way done airing (SB: 14/24~48, Hyouka 11/24).
And slightly off-topic, as much as I love Space Brothers, its animation is garbage. It's the opposite for Hyouka, in which the animation quality is amazing but the pacing and plot are left to be desired. Also, I'm wondering how you decide upon favorites since it's such a long list of rather random series (the quality [OST, animation, and plot-wise] between titles such as Index/Railgun and Clannad is huge).
Eyeshield 21. I'm no good with words so all I can say is that Eyeshield 21 is about football and is really good, haha.
07-Ghost...no one watches it but its really good and not scary so dont worry.

It is funny, has great action, I love the art style, a great plot, and it is also sad!
The plot is 100 demon (or mamodo if its the english dub) children are sent to the human world each of which has a spell book. The spell book can only be read by their one true human partner, if a spell book is burned the demon/mamodo will be sent back to the demon/mamodo world, the last demon standing is the king of the demon world for the next 1000 years.
@RedhandsXN: But what you're saying is that anime series you haven't even finished watching equate to your favorite series you've already finished.

it's like reading a book from a series and assuming that if the first book is good, the entire series is good.

I recently read the High School Musical Manga adaption when it was posted on Basil, and I've got to say, that stuff was 11/10.
