changing my main

Ok so in a little BaMs are gonna be nerfed(which is utterly stupid) and I don't want to fund a class thats gonna lose its best atk(BaMs get a 7sec CD on BkB in the future) so im stuck between which class i want to main, i have alot of mage gear so i want to stay on the mage path, but i have no clue which mage to main, i have a lvl 171 I/L that hits 1mil a line unfunded on reg mobs so its decent i guess, but what mage would be best for me to pick up(keep in mind i have the purple ele staff) so any input is fine, ive played all the mages just never funded them so help please

Blaze wizard is the only mage worth spending massive funds on. Even with their nerf, they have sub par dps potential because of their unusually high amount of hits per second for a mage class.

I personally really like F/P, and that works with your Ele 6, but I know that a lot of people prefer the i/L's smoother training, rather than setting up DoTs and nuking (which I find fun). It comes down to which playstyle you prefer, I have a few friends who say that they would never main a F/P because they find it too boring but they love their i/Ls, whereas I find i/Ls incredibly boring and I think F/P is significantly more interesting.
Your other options are:
Evan, which might be a good idea if they get a buff in kms soon (it is implied that they will)
Beast Tamer (but only if they come out again, and even if they do most people just use them for support)
Bishop (same support issue as Beast Tamers)
Kanna (see above)
Luminous (a pretty good choice, Saru already talked about their downsides)
Blaze Wizard (also benefits from your staff, though not as much as F/P, but since they recently got nerfed maybe it's not a great idea)
or sticking with your Battle Mage, which has the advantage of being the cheapest option, since you likely have most of your equips and since the Battle Mage nerf is less of a nerf and more of a chance in playstyle, I suggest this option. I'd apologize for the run-on sentence but judging by your post, you probably don't have many issues with that kind of thing.

If beast tamer comes out you could main that one maybe?

Try out an Ice Lightning, they're incredibly fun. They were also given a rad buff recently so they're even better! Fire Poisons always seemed far too slow to me, and they take too long to set up their combos for a high damage attack. Luminous are awesome at training, but reflection is pretty slow as well, if you can get +1 attack speed as your inner, and if you can farm a crap load of green potions, I'd try a Luminous.

With the reaper and the new teleport for bam, i don't see them losing out on a lot. I found it way too clunky to constantly have to hit attack and then battle king bar.

The only problem with the new update to the is the fact that their auras do not stack.
