Black screen after character login

Hi my computer just did a windows update (windows 10), and I've been getting a black screen whenever I login. The only way to get out of it is by pressing ctrl+alt+delete every time. Apparently it has something to do with the resolution... the weird part is this only happened after this windows update o_o. Exact same problem as this guy has: https://www.reddit.com/r/Maplestory/comments/3zulpk/help_maplestory_keep_black_screen_when_i_log_in/

Anyways does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance!

@revenants: Oh it actually worked? . haha np. Funny how I randomly decided to start maple again and test that, and it actually did something (after Googling for hours before I quit)

@revenants:
I know this is a bit old, but I just returned to Maple. I decided to try changing the compatibility mode to Windows 7, and it seems to work (atleast for now). Or Nexon decided to finally fix it? idk

it seems to happen a couple of times. it just did it to me. and what i think is a temp fix is if you have the max resolution, go to 800x600 and then switch back to 1023x768 or 1366x768, whichever you used before. i play on the max resolution and doing this helped it for now at least.

@vivabasura As @trumanb stated it's only happened after win10 did its "major" update recently. Win10 has had 0 problems for me until they did this update. =/ and yeah always have been playing on full screen.

@vivabasura: Actually I wasn't, I've always been playing on full screen. I had just found out, a few minutes ago, that the window mode thing fixes it too. My comp I bought a few weeks ago, and returned (which had Windows 10) could run Maple perfectly on full screen o_o... that's the strange part. And Holy dang... two months? :o

ive had w10 for two months and its always been like this, not just from a recent update, u were probably playing on window mode where theres no problems
the problem actually comes from switching resolution while on fullscreen, so login screen (800x600) > maple world (higher than 800x600) transition leaves screen black until u do ctrl+alt+delete thing so if u had yourgame resolution on 800x600 u wouldnt really have this problem but ew noone plays on 800x600 anymore o.o, also ud have a problem when visiting cash shop though.. yeah so the best on w10 is to play windowed+borderless

Thing is, I've had Windows 10 for awhile now, and have been playing Maple just fine. It is only after this recent update that I have a problem like this. I hope Nexon fixes this soon, I assume they somewhat know about this, since, in the past they've apparently fixed and are aware of compatibility issues between Maplestory and Windows 10.

That's the thing upgrading to Windows10, there will be issues with maple popping up if you upgrade

@revenants: Yes, I notice this problem as well... I saw my character logged on and just standing there.
My maple is black screen and can't do anything

@trumanb: It's quite annoying but I guess it's a sacrifice you have to take to play =/
@berserk I know it's not my harddrive because I'm running maple on an ssd. Not to mention I just got this computer on christmas, so it's most likely the windows update that did something to maples resolution adjustments.

your hard drive is too slow and maple is loading that is why u get a black screen.
Load maple as window next time or defrag your hard drive
