wireless internet issues?

Hi everyone! Im having a slight problem with my network, and I believe it is stemming from my router. The internet connection for my various devices (iPod, PS3, and Laptop) seem to constantly drop connection (The iPod Touch more than any of the the others); however my phone (which usually uses my wifi) NEVER drops connection. I do not know whether it is my modem, since it is somewhat old (a few years old...around 5+ years old), or whether it is my router (which I got January 2011). This problem honestly has me stumped...The problem isn't groundbreaking, it is just VERY annoying having to sometimes unplug the router and plug it back in to get something to reconnect and recognize the connection.

The router is: Cisco Linksys Wireless N Router, WRT120N

If it could be a modem problem, should I possibly call Comcast about it first and see if they could replace the modem?

I changed the channel number to 1 and so far, my iPod or laptop or my ps3 have not disconnected and the wifi signal seems to be stronger! Me and my sister (who both had to deal with this issue constantly) thank you soo much!
Cool..! Good to hear it's working now..!

That would indicate it's not an Internet connection problem to Comcast, and that the modem is most likely OK.

Do you know how to access the router settings..?

One thing to try would be to go into the Wireless Settings in the router and change the "Channel" on the Wireless page to a different number than it's using now.
Normally routers are set by default to use a channel somewhere in the middle of the range available.
Try changing the channel number to 1 and then Save the settings. See if that helps any with the devices disconnecting.
If you still have trouble try changing the channel to the highest number available.

Sometimes other wireless devices like wireless phones- not cell phones, but the kind you plug into the wall, may interfere because they use the same radio frequencies as the router. And sometimes appliances like microwave ovens may have a similar effect. Changing the channel may put the router in a different frequency range and let the connections get through the interference.
When the connections drop, do you see any changes in the lights on the front of the modem or router..?

Specifically, do any of the lights on the modem change, go out or turn red..?
