@dcp88: Good Question. I think that anyone could join that group to study the Light. They should explain how that group search for people that want to join..like Black Mage and Luminous.

Black Mage was studying the power of light (like Luminous and the other guys) but too much Light without equilibrium can blind. That's what happened to him. The interesting part of the fight of Luminous VS Black Mage is that he corrupted part of Luminous with Darkness, and this actually brought the balance (the equilibrium) that prevented Luminous from getting blind like him. ( I LOVE storylines in this game! )

He was a traitor to the people of Grandis, and was exiled as an outcast. So basically he works for whomever he can for power. That's why when he confronted Luminous during the original siege, he backstabbed Guwaru, took his power, and left. Then, sometime in the future, since the Black Mage was temporarily sealed away, he bumped into Darmoor, who gave him power to take over Heliseum.
Kinda like star wars. He was good but wanted more and turned bad and became leader of the sith (BlackWings)
Except the Black Mage did not create the Black Wings, Orchid did.

@draken: story still seems pretty off to me
jumbled somewhere in a deep abyss(not talking about the abyssal root)
strange conflicting time lines

Thought you said transcendentalist... got AP US History on the mind.
Anyways, probably yeah considering it's a korean game. Gotta have those subject stereotypes (good person went bad and got destructive and op powers)

@steven7x23: Yea same here because I wasn't sure how else it worked =/. Nexon really needs to get their stories straight if they're going to bother with one at all.

@steven7x23: Yea when I went through the Kaiser storyline I was thinking the Black Mage and Darmoor were the same person, maybe they just had the real name while we just called him the Black Mage.
@draken: The incident with the Black Mage happened ~1000 years ago, in the Luminous storyline you can see Magnus in the beginning. The incident with Darmoor/Darumoa happened 10 years ago in Nova/Grandis and Magnus was serving Darmoor at that time. So basically he serves two masters, just in different time periods.

IIRC, in later updates in KMS, there was a new content called Dimensional Invade, where Hilla and Magnus team up. So he kinda moves back and forth, I think there is more to the story with him, it just hasn't been revealed yet.
Or they are the same person
he just did stuff in another dimension or world

its some kind of parallel universe maybe

@iDivideZer0: Yea I know which is why I find it weird Nexon is so inconsistent with the numbers, I think Phantom was like barely 100 years.

Should get it to 120 while the Tempest and Mystic events are still on, so when Level 2 Link Skills become available, you'll immediately have it. Plus, Luminous is super-easy to level.
There's one thing I don't understand...... How can he gain access to the power of light if he was just a boy born in Edelstein.
Well he was the founder of Aurora, the society that studies light, so this all works like a normal person learning magic of that sort?

@draken: lol, I just made that number up, I'm not sure exactly how long, but all I know is that it was WAYYY before the events in Nova/Grandis, but it's definitely over a 100

He was the Transcendent of Light, but the Light corrupted him and he became dark....
Magnus wants power, so he serves both Doorma (who stole the power of the other two Transcendents) and the Black Mage, hoping for more power

@iDivideZer0: I coulda sworn it was only a few hundred years at most... which is weird cause they're really inconsistent with how long ago the black mage happened.

black mage is the good guy (his generals not so much)

look at all that he has done for maple world...

made traveling easier (several times over) remember trying to go from one city before big bang....
then there that orbis tower it was a pain to go up and down with out scrolls....

lol idk his generals seem more evil then him

black mage= that good guy(with bad luck) who has followers that do stuff the wrong way. then he gets blamed for everything thay did wrong....
at least this is what its starting to feel like if you look at the bigger picture

I think he serves both, seems like the kind of guy with no loyalties who will do anything for the right price. I kinda like his character even if hes an asshole.

I made all the heroes just to read the plot line haha. Turns out Lumi has the best one and is the only one I only got to 70. >.<

This is what I got from your explanations, correct me if I'm wrong:

-The Black mage founded Aurora and was good/just
-He was the most powerful light user
-Such power ended up corrupting him and in search of more power, he casted away his light
-Luminous is this light that the Black Mage casted away, just in the form of a person
-Lumi was affected with the Black Mage's darkness because he was a part of him before

Did I get that right?

Nova/Grandis Trancendences

Time - Chronica
^this. Also, if you notice, there are some similarities between the transcendences:

-The Black Mage (Light) and Darmoor (Life) both defected and are now the main threat to their respective worlds. Both are supposedly the only male transcendences, and both are mortal transcendences.
-Rhine and Chronica are both transcendences of time and both had their power stolen by the defected transcendences.
-Alice and Iona were both cryptic entities whose whereabouts were unknown, until recently Alice was discovered.
During the story line i got that the black mage was the leader or Aurora before he "became" the black mage. Then he condensed his light side and gave it up in his search for power. The light stayed in Aurora being protected by the Aurorans and since the Luminous is basically the black mages light side im guessing that is luminous is the transecndent of light IF the black mage was it be4

Who knows? maybe nexon'll make another NPC thats the transecdent.
Alice, the girl in Root Abyss, is the transcendent of Life.
