Are you truly an old Ms player A riddle test Hard

The first in a series of fun Maple Riddle Quizzes. This doesn't really prove anything, and I hope you guys have fun. These questions are all related specific things from the old MS, and because they are riddles, answers won't be Googleable. This will also take some smarts. Solve the riddles/questions, or describe what they are referring to. If you can get 70% or more without any knowledge other than your own, you can call yourself a true old school Mapler *wink*. I'll release all the answers in a bit. If you guys want a Quiz number 2, I'd be glad to make another. Hope you guys have fun stirring up old Maple memories!
EDIT: All questions have been answered! Solutions posted below the test.

BONUS: These pinatas weren't very lively - What am I talking about? (SOLVED by WoahWut)

If you guys need any hints, just ask, I might provide some clues.
-----------
SOLUTIONS
1. This sky-colored gem used to be your right hand man. (SOLVED by WoahWut)
The current cursor is a 'hand'. Most people move the mouse with their right hands. The original cursor used to be a blue-colored orb/gem within a teardrop shaped border.

2. Although snake eyes might have been nicer, four eyes were always the best in Maple. (SOLVED by mmhzwarrior)
Snake eyes refers to rolling two 1's on a pair of dice. In the older days of maple story, you had to roll dice for your stats. The lowest stats you could get your unwanted stats were 4/4.

3. Ellinia's favorite cooking utensil. (SOLVED by DarkTraitor)
The panlid. This was sought after most often in Ellinia. It dropped from green mushrooms and was worth about 100k, which was a fortune. Everyone wanted one of these.

4. This little pig was different, he struck fear into the big bad wolves that harmed his brothers. Where did he make his house? (SOLVED by WoahWut)
At pig beach, there was one pig that was not like the rest - the Iron Hog. All you players who killed the pigs would be the big bad wolves

5. Best training spot in Perion in the good old days? Many players' passion for maple story was set ablaze here. (SOLVED by WoahWut)
Although many of you said wild boars, pay close attention to the wording. "Ablaze" is the keyword here. Fireboars was one of the best training areas for levels 3x. Wild boars were one of the best spots, but for lower levels.

6. Compared to now, these things would fly, the treasures' leap was twice as high. (This one's a toughie. Hardcore oldschool) (SOLVED by elap510)
"Treasures" is an important word here, as well as the "twice as high". In the first few months of maple story, monster drops (treasures), would drop much higher than they do now. If there was a platform just above you, the drops would go more than twice as high as they normally should.

7. When it was hot outside, and you were waiting to get into a PQ, you'd turn this on to stay cool. (SOLVED by WoahWut)
What do you use to stay cool? An air conditioner, also known as AC. If you were waiting to get into a PQ in the old days, it would be the Kerning City PQ. Most people would have an AutoClicker (AC) to help them get in.

8. For those who lacked the strength of sword, for those who lacked in wisdom and lore, if an enemy was within your arm's length grasp, this would be have to be done before judgment could be passed. (SOLVED by WoahWut)
The first part refers to warriors and mages "strength of sword/wisdom and lore". So people who were not warriors or mages - bowman or thieves. Back in the old days, if monsters were next to you, you could not shoot arrows or throw stars, you had to use power knockback (which would do 1 damage) to hit enemies away from you.

9. With the power of pots and pet food, the descent towards the crimson balrog's gaze could be escaped. (SOLVED by WoahWut)
By holding down your pot key or a key with pet food assigned, you could climb down the ladder on the ship to Orbis without being sent outside. Thereby escaping the "Crimson Balrog's gaze".

10. If Jr. Sentinels were in sight, the melody heard would remind you of who you were, and of your secrets. (Another toughie. Hardcore oldschool) (SOLVED by mattx0r)
"If Jr. Sentinels were in sight" refers to Orbis Tower, the only place where you would find Jr. Sentinels. "the melody heard" refers to a song, or music. "remind you of who you were and of your secrets" refers to your identity (ID) and password (secret). The music played at the title screen of Maple Story used to be the same music played in Orbis Tower.

BONUS: These pinatas weren't very lively - What am I talking about? (SOLVED by WoahWut)
One of the earliest Halloween events (perhaps the first), had many ghoulish monsters drop candy, hence the pinata. The most common of these monsters was the Coolie Zombie, which was not very "lively".

Note to all the participants:
I hope you guys had as much fun solving these as I did making them! Congratulations to all those who solved and helped solve these riddles! For those who completed 70% or more, you can call yourselves true old school players! For those who didn't, hopefully you've learned some new things about the Maple World of old! I'll be sure to make a Quiz #2, hope to see you guys again! Thanks for taking the effort and time to give these questions a shot, and long live Maple!
For number 5. Fire Drakes were pretty popular too, I think o-o
That is a fair answer as well, considering it was in Perion and makes reference to the word "ablaze".
Who cares?

Moving on.
Sorry that you got a bad impression of this thread, this isn't actually for proving anything. I should have probably made the title of these quizzes something a little different, but it's kinda late now. It's just a bunch of fun riddles related to old Maple Story, and since the answers aren't Googleable, you'd have to be an older player to solve most of them.

After you finished with LPQ at level 51, most assassins and ice/lightning mages trained there for steelies
I didn't get any of Quiz 2, but this one seems a lot easier

#6: When you kill bosses such as Zakum, the Mesos and drops would "fly" out?

Reply April 24, 2012 - edited
Ultimate
Then maybe it has to do with how high items and mesos dropped when you killed a monster?
Correct. In the first few months of maple story, all monsters would drop items much higher than currently. If there was a platform above the monster, the item would go more than twice as high into the air. Congratulations on solving the final unanswered question.

5: The Burning Zone where Copper Drakes and Fire Boars spawned.
There used to be a botter in the middle of the map in almost every channel. No surprise though, as people trained there upto Lv55ish.

OH @6: When KPQ was still very popular, some got on top of the rightmost sewer (the 3rd one), and dropped items, enticing other noobs who couldn't get up there to jump like mad for the drops.
6. When you dropped mesos or items and jumped at the same time, they would fly super high. Right?
You're the closest so far. The italicized part is very close. But it has nothing to do with you dropping items.
Does #6 have something to do with Jump Quests? Cuz I love Jump quests!
Nope, but I was thinking of putting a jump quest related question in here. Maybe in Quiz #2 hehe.

Since #6 has stumped everyone so far, here are some hints.
6. Compared to now, these things would fly, the treasures' leap was twice as high.
- These things never actually flew, but compared to now it might seem like they did.
- The word treasure is important
- Another way to word it would be "the treasures' drop was twice as high" <- Huge hint right here.
