Red Protection Scroll Question

I was wondering if the Protection Scrolls in the Red shop were any different from those you buy from the cash shop. Usually they go away even if the scroll attempt was successful, but the Red Protection scroll doesn't say this in its description. Does this mean its affects will remain until one of my EE's fail?
