Its an interpretation fallacy. You are getting skewed results because people don't share their negative attributes. You see each person bring up the 1 or 2 things they're good at, and when viewing it as a whole, the entire community seems to, as a whole, intelligent, healthy, etc.
It would be like going up to a church and asking people if they are religious. If you have people needing to bring up things they're good at, they'll share them, and not mention any downsides to themselves.

If someone's intelligence is an A, then if they say their intelligence was a 95(%) (out of 100, I can't think of a way to make a clear point scale using the Binet-IQ Scales), you'd assume their intelligence was an A, and vice versa if they said their intelligence was an A.
You can't misinterpret the IQ numbers as they are constant and there is nothing confusing about them, unless you bring up a reason as to why their IQ doesn't correspond with how they appear / behave
