Eye of Fire Scam

Ppl are selling eofs for ridiculously low prices. Thing is, they're not actually eofs but eye of fire chunks, which are used for easy zakum. Dont get scammed by it >.<

@Omniscient1:
Well most ppl just assume that its a eof. First, its a real item. 2nd, its not a eqp so u wont bother checking it out as it has little use to boost your range and 3rd until this patch, everyone would think that a picture of a Eof Would BE an Eof.
And to top it off, most ppl that see someone selling a fafnir dagger for 900m and have the money would buy it right away, instead of asking questions.
@JazzC87
As a seller if you say S>eof but arent selling eofs its still scamming, regardless if the person is smart enough to avoid the scam or not.

Its not a scam if you didn't read the difference btwn the real eye of fire and the fake ones... =_=
Which is what the OP probably did.
Its his fault, not the seller. >.>

@VictorXG:

You can clearly see that it isn't the original one though. So if it isn't the same one then should know that something is up with it? That is why you don't buy and ask questions first lol.

well my point is to let ppl know theres such a scam going on, and yesterday and today are the first two days the patch notes has come out. Many ppl dont even look at the patch notes and expect it to be a eof -3-

yes. that is scamming, whether or not the buyer has common sense. Btw, a snickers bar doesnt look like a milky way.
it's a chocolate bar same freaking thing. My point is if you are selling something similar and the buyer doesn't take the time to make sure what he is buying is correct. Then that is the buyers fault. in real life though you can get your money back and talk to the manager or w/e but that isnt my point. Point is you are dumb if you fall for that "scam". Read what you are buying before actually buying it. Don't be lazy about it.

@VictorXG:
So if i go say selling a snickers bar but actually have a milky way I am scamming people? It's common sense to see what the seller is selling. if you don't want to take the time to actually view the item you are buying then that is your fault not the sellers. Now if there was no way to see the item description on the item at all. Then that would be a scam but you can clearly read what you are buying. So that is your fault.

Plus they get them for free just by clicking on an NPC.
Their intent is to trick/scam people, how does it make a difference whether of not the customer reads the item name, when it was the buyer's purpose was to scam.

U're not helping in this thread. It is a scam since they say S>eof, when they actually arent.

For anyone who says it your own fault, plz dont contribute to this thread as you're not helping.
It's not a scam. You need to go in trade to even see the EoF and if you're too stupid to make sure to read what you are buying. Then you deserve what you get from it. Don't just click trade on everything you do with out making sure what the item is you are doing business with.

That's a very noble thing to do, and I never said you specifically were complaining about being scammed, but my point still stands--if people fall for this and don't see what they're getting into, then that's really their own fault... of course, if Nexon had the foresight to add or change little graphics to certain similar-looking or fused items, I think we could cut down on the scamming epidemic by a fair margin, but what're you gonna do, eh?
Well, that's their own fault, really, and they forfeit the right to complain. And it's not like this sort of thing doesn't happen all the time anyways with all sorts of other items, so it's a shame that people aren't more wary of scammers like that.

Except for the fact that it explicitly says Eye of Fire Chunk, and the description says this verbatim: A chunk of Zakum Tree. You can sacrifice this at the altar to summon Crumbling Zakum.
if you dont read patch notes or visite fan websites how would you even know it exists? There is also no replica of the eye of fire until now so why would you read over to check it if there was nothing done to it these past years

@Dilbert868:

You don't need to read patch notes to understand what you are buying. It's not like the crumble EoF is blank. It clearly says a different name than the original EoF. Thus, it's common sense that it isn't the samething as EoF, and if you don't know what it is that means you should ask others before buying it. Just to make sure what it is for. Don't automatically assume that it's the samething as EoF if both items have different names.
not every single person reads through all of the patch notes. there is easily many people who did not know about the new EoF item, so they're obviously going to assume it's the original EoF.

Yes, bc it's really hard to read the item name before buying it. It's just how stupid people bought those 26 attack pirate knuckles thinking that it was gloves. If you are too stupid to read the item or choose not to. Then you deserve to be "scammed". Take your time and read before you buy stuff.
If they were smart, they would look at the person's credentials or what the item was before they quickly press the buy button.
