iPod Touch 4th Gen Randomly Shuts Off

My iPod Touch keeps suddenly turning off in the middle of whatever I'm doing, even thought I'm sure it has like 90% battery. The screen will go black, and I'll have to press the power button on top to turn it on again. However, sometimes it'll even turn off while it's turning itself on again, and I can't use it anymore. I tried googling some solutions, but to no avail. This problem won't occur if my iPod is plugged in though. Any solutions?

You can find batteries and tools to open up your ipod on ebay. Not sure how well they work, but at this point, do you have anything to lose?
most definitely a battery issue. I'd suggest opening it up and buying a battery replacement (if thats even possible on apple products?)
Not possible unless I want to pay a hefty fee.
That happened to me as well, except this was a year ago, I went into the apple store and they gave me a new one, didn't cost a penny to get one
My warranty expired, can't get a new one

Tried that, but the issue still persists.

I got this one right before my warranty expired.

I've tried that, and while it does turn it back on, it will always eventually have the issue again and shut itself off. Trying to find a permanent fix
