Buccaneer Hyper Skill Released

Fourth Job Enhancements:
Double Spiral - Reinforce: Double Spiral's damage is increased by 20%.
Double Spiral - Extra Target: Double Spiral's number of monsters hit is increased by 2.
Double Spiral - Bonus Attack: Double Spiral's attack count is increased by 1.
Fist Enrage - Reinforce: Fist Enrage's damage is increased by 20%.
Fist Enrage - Boss Killer: Fist Enrage's damage to bosses is increased by 20%.
Fist Enrage - Bonus Attack: Fist Enrage's attack count is increased by 1.
Energy Blast - Reinforce: Energy Blast's damage is increased by 20%.
Energy Blast - Extra Target: Energy Blast's number of monsters hit is increased by 2.
Energy Blast - Bonus Attack: Energy Blast's attack count is increased by 1.

Hyper Skill Buff: Stimulate: Your Energy bar is full and your damage is increased by 10% for 120 seconds. There is a cooldown of 360 seconds. [required level: 150]

Hyper Skill Attack: Unity of Power: Your Energy is condensed and unleashed on up to 8 enemies, dealing 800% damage 5 times. For 90 seconds, your maximum damage is increased by 30,000. This effect stacks up to 3 times. Can only be used when your Energy bar is full. There is a cooldown of 8 seconds. The maximum damage for this skill is 9,999,999. [required level: 170]

With Octopunch's 20% bossing damage and Stimulate's 20% bossing damage.
It will be A LOT EASIER to hit cap on bosses with Octopunch!
Unity of Power is great too with that increased range. 8 second cooldown for the win!

Well, they did tweak the skills a bit when they released the hyper skills for mages/warriors/mihile. Could happen for us as well. Not animation wise; but utility-wise. I could really care less how "pretty" or "cool" a skill actually looks-- im more interested in it's actual use

@takeback3r: You present a very good point. Other than the animation for Unity of Power sucking horribly, the damage output and the fact that both stimulate and UoP work in a combo-like fashion, like all our other skills (e.g. double spiral and corkscrew, energy charge and buccaneer blast, etc.), really does suit us Buccaneers perfectly.

I guess the hype is what killed us all in the inside. </3

Just how good is stimulate? Does it give you infinite energy for two minutes, as in you can spam Unity of Power without draining the charge gauge?

Whoever has complaints about the hyper skills don't really understand how buccaneers are supposed to work. They work best when there are multiple monsters within rush length's away because that is where all of their options exist. Mobility and stalling and now offense options are enhanced when mobs are present.

Stimulate was necessary for unity of power to exist, an attack that (finally) drains the charge gauge to use it. Without stimulate, unity of power is terrible. Without unity of power, buccaneers lose an attack style that is more to their nature than any attack they have ever had. What is there to dislike besides the animation? The damage is good, the cooldown is short, and the range is all that is necessary for a class that needs to be up close regardless. Cooldown skills should always be welcomed by the only class able to reset them.

I'm having a hard time coming up with anything to replace the two skills with that isn't laughably strong while also complementing the synergy of the class.

KMS is hella stronger than GMS, even with those dupes and nebs. He's wearing clean gear for reasons like pricks paying attention only to damage. Not saying you are, but you know... There's a lot of people like that. And it is KMST.

OT: That hyper skill is stupid. Can't Nexon tell how much range it's lacking?

I think It's like Phantom's Milles skill. If it was like that with fists I would be happy.

@Phaseoffact: I'm glad you share my sentiments. I seriously didn't think too much about the animation from the gifs, but seeing Unity of Power in action looks so disheartening. I mean, why cast to the side and make it a miniature explosion of energy? You're right regarding its poor range, I mean, even Bucc Blast has better range than that.

@PilTH: All in all, you're right. These are nice add ons, especially for damage. I guess, we expected more out of this, as always.

Lol, I don't see why Nexon releases unfinished skills it's just annoying to us.

About UoP: The idea is good, it just needs to be buffed more; considering Buccs are all about charging and releasing energy. It fits the class but Nexon did it wrong you know like everything they do that's pirate related </3

(No Phil clam down, don't be one of those people)

Anyway I really only see using the Hypers to stack Damage, which is good because more dmg is cool.

It doesn't even look like a hyper skill. Seems to have crap range, and I'd rather just keep my energy charged than use it on that mediocre skill >.>

Stimulate need to get buffed. 10% damage and 120sec charge 33% of the time is weak. It should be 10% damage, 10% damage reduction, 100% stance, 100% status resistance. Now that would be worth having 33% of the time.

Edit: what the heck? Is it me or does our hyper looks glitchy? Unity of power sometimes doesn't cancel our energy charge, and when he used stimulate, it turns off your energy charge or is that a requirement to use stimulate? And EWWWWWWWWW UNITY OF POWER'S RANGE AND ANIMATION SUCKS EVEN MORE IN GAME.

To be honest, I'm kind of dissapointed with the hyper skills.
First, the skill enhancing passives. Instead of enhancing Double Spiral, I would of liked to see Speed Infusion break speed cap. Speed Infusion is one of the skills that defines a Bucc, and I dunno if it's just me but the idea behind hyper skills sounds like "mastery of the job to the point where your skills go beyond their limit". Speed Infusion breaking cap speed would be worthy of a hyper skill imo. Next is Octopunch. I'm fine with the damage increase buffs, but adding 1 attack count? Yes yes, KMS's name for the skill is Fist Enrage so they don't have to go by the "8 punchs = Octopunch", but it would of been nice to have something done to the pitiful range Octopunch has (something like what Corsairs got for Rapid Fire).

Next is Stimulate. Fully charges energy in an instant for 120 seconds and gives us 10% extra damage. I charge energy mainly for Bucc Blast, which I assume many others do as well. The 90% stance and 30 attack are nice, but access to Bucc Blast is my main target when charging energy. When I need to use Bucc Blast, there are usually many monsters in front of me, which means that energy charges in 5~6 seconds. The only situation I see Stimulate useful is when we are against 1 boss monster that doesn't summon and you want the stance+attack, or if you are going on a speed Zakum/Horntail run and want to use Bucc Blast right away without having to charge first. I would have liked this skill to be passive, making energy charge last for 120 seconds and giving us 10% extra damage.

Ah, now onto Unity of Power. An ultimate with additional effects, letting us go over cap for a total of 140k (90k+50k) assuming we don't have additional potential. This skill also depletes our energy, which can be explained by the fact that we are the only ones with these "additional effects" on our ultimate (I think). I assume our energy depletes immediately after using this skill, so the skill itself will charge some energy for us. This is just meh for me though, a 3-combo skill similar to AB/Aran would be pretty cool, but that's just my personal opinion xD

Well, that's pretty much my opinion/rant on the hyper skills. Might have a different opinion once we get them, but all we can do now is wait.

All in all, my issues with the update are stimulate's ridiculous cool down and Unity of Power. Seriously, are only brawling skills are octopunch, double spiral, and corkscrew... I really thought our Hyper Skill should have been a brawler type skill. Maybe two huge floating energy fists that dish out a barrage of punches? with a reasonable cool down, ehh, well anything other than Vegeta's final explosion </3
