What makes people say F/p is always such a good choice?
So I'm trying to find a good mage for me to create, and everyone is saying that F/P mages are good for everything, like fun and damage and pretty much everything else. After watching some videos it looks like they just use paralyze and mist erup, so what exactly makes the class so fun to play? If it really isn't, can anybody recommend a more fun explorer mage to try?

in my opinion, F/Ps are a technical class. I always found it fun just to run calculations and see how much damage I could kick out, just to find that my F/P would always, always hit higher than I thought it would, lol. But yeah, in essence, bossing with a F/P (at least for lower level bosses) a lot of it becomes a race to see how fast you could kill a boss.
Back a while ago, before RED, I felt F/Ps were even funner just because the ultimate fart bomb did such great damage and there was that 10 second cooldown was just the wait time which built up suspense for the sweet release of massive numbers. It felt sooooo good seeing a few million pop out with such a trash range haha

My current F/P is 72. Explosion does about 20-30k i think right now without much funding. You're going to hate 2nd job since you don't really play with dot too much.
Explosive classes are fun - as in animations with explosions XD also yea fart and run :s

I like my F/P, but you have to deal with the first two jobs. It's a late bloomer for sure, but it's worth it if you can control the DoT as people above me said.
Besides the high numbers at low funding, you have to alternate between your skills alot to micromanage your DoTs, which keeps encourages people to actually think in order to achieve maximum dps instead of simply spamming a main 1v1 move repeatedly; that may be one of the reasons.

I thought people picked f/p because it uses flames and has good damage?
it's only fun if you can control the DoT system. and it deals the highest damage out of all mages too so maybe people factor that into fun? i personally don't find it fun
i think both bishops and i/l are equally fun, maybe i/l being a bit more fun. bishops are nice too but they're not as versatile since their main bossing move causes delay to turn on and off and they don't have elemental resistance.
