@Crazy190: Thing is, OP's "source material" or whatever reference image he posted is consistent with one type of colour throughout each shade. Why randomly place darker bricks where he wouldn't need them? And considering that he's a "perfectionist", wouldn't that need correcting too? Everything in the picture seems off and it's kind of sad that one would resort to blaming a mental illness for features like that. The only method that would consistently place bricks according to slight changes would be a Minecraft mod, through importing an image.

Anyways, sorry that you had to fret over this. Sometimes some of the themes in threads end up triggering me slightly too but that's a whole different story, haha~

@Wafers: Sorry, but I'm not going to bother responding to you anymore after this. Your doctor can't diagnose you with a mental illness and can only refer you to someone who can, which is pretty much why I think everything you've said is a load of crock. I can tell you, not to defend him or anything, he does not have OCPD (I doubt he actually has either).
I have OCPD, and I don't even want to look at that thing, I'd rather just NOT shade than shade that badly. I mean, the girl has pink hair but it's shaded yellow and that guy with the purple hair is shaded with gray.
I seriously do not comply with this.

Again, OP's just being the male equivalent of a henehoe, he doesn't suffer from anything that would affect the outcome of the picture in question and he used a program to make that.
(Also, minecraft pixelart is not art, build some big house and I'll compliment that)

@DopeReligion I'm actually OCD.. Just because I didn't state that I was diagnosed as OCD doesn't mean I lied. My Doctor diagnosed me when I told her I had a few problems here and there. She said I was very close to not being OCD so I merely passed the diagnose. I don't get why you maplers need to make such a big deal out of it when you don't even know me. I wasn't even diagnosing myself. This is why I said it was a minor OCD problem, not a major one. -_-

I'm not telling you that you have anything, as I'm not a psychologist - or therapist for that matter. I even went so far as to make a point of getting help if you actually think there's something wrong. @DopeReligion You're trying to tell me I have ocpd.. I'm saying I don't. You obviously stated that I was mistaking "perfectionism" with OCD. People usually mistak ocd with ocpd.

On the other hand, the whole portrait is floating because if you looked on the other side of it, there was a troll face which I created with a "dancing banana arms and legs". I tried to align that. I miscalculated a few blocks so it's a few squares off. I removed the blocks from the tail which were put in place to make it the actual tail. All of this was made in Creation mode, not Survival.

Not going to bother explaining once again what the difference between OCD and OCPD is (and the various cross-over and singular aspects that distinguish one from the other). If you think you have a mental health issue and your life is being severely affected, then go get diagnosed/get some help. That's all I'm going to leave you with.

The tail isn't complete because I downsized the chars to make it a 96x89 Dimension. When you zoom in, there are no blocks there...

On the other hand, my ocd is not ocpd. I know I have ocd due to the fact that if I do something wrong, I would have to keep redoing it until it's right. I can't leave anything that doesn't look fine to me, alone. I would have to fix it and make it right. I don't take perfectionism to the extreme. I do things the way I intend to do them because if I don't, I worry something will go wrong. If I'm not mistaken, I just described what I did is OCD and not OCPD. Apparently I'm still getting "beat on" so I will not argue anymore. Have a nice day/week/month/year.

As someone with actual OCD I find it kind of offensive that you'd use it as an excuse for your "attention to detail" about your badly-generated picture. Furthermore there's a difference between OCD and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD), which is actually characterized by perfectionism (while OCD is not).

I'd take you more seriously if you weren't ignorant from the get-go.

I'm not trying to sound like a mean buttface, it's just that the way some blocks don't appear right.

His tail is missing/spaced weirdly, the random blotches of yellow, and how some of the outline isn't there.

Hm unfortunately I'll have to agree with everyone. The blocks are so accurate yet those specs of random yellows....I mean you'd have some serious OCD to complete this image if you did it the way you said, certainly you wouldn't have used the yellow so suddenly, you'd make the image look as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

If you didn't use a program, kudos dude! But I have a hard time believing it, I'm sorry x_X;

lol ikr O.o and it takes me only like 1 and a half hours to do a char so how could it take 52 hours? O_________O.

Definitely used a program, I can do this too, very very easy. Unless you have different pictures taken during construction.

@Tevlev: I made a character too, I used the program I guarantee he used to find out the materials, I have the pictures i took during the build, i never finished it though, all i had left was half of the hair

It's not in Survival, this was in Creation. I bought the game on the 6th. I stayed up each night til like 5am doing things. I can assure you if you went to bannedstory and put this hair on a character, it'll have a tail too.

No way this took you 52 hours, this couldn't possibly be in survival because you said you just started playing a few days ago. You could also see that at the very left the tail and at the top where the girls hair is messed up missing some blocks which is most likely a image converter failing to unable to be so specific. Another thing is that most people who do pixel art on Minecraft only or mainly use wool, I've only seen image converters using any type of block. I've used these image converters before to see what they were like and I've made my character hand by hand and this only it took me about 12 hours and even less because I was lazy throughout the project. I was also new at that time and it did not take me that long to make it also My old scarlion hat was gigantic. One last thing, why did Mr. Basil FP this? I thought he stopped FPing these Minecraft pictures.

I just started playing MineCraft a few days ago so I'm not use to most of the controls yet, especially on a mac since I've never used a mac either lmao.

I used Bannedstory to make the chars. I then saved it as a picture and cropped it out from the rest of the white space. I tried to match each block specifically with each pixel form Bannedstory. I zoomed in using Adobe Lightroom on my mac. I only uploaded the picture for my friends to see.

There are weird blocks in places that a normal person should not have put it, coupled with the fact that the girls hair looks cropped. I'm going to say program-created.

I think it would look nicer if you didn't use gold blocks. The gold blocks on the eyes and mouth doesn't quite fit.

I think Terraria is better for pictures like this Still awesome though
