lost as to gms system of light and dark
so how does the light and dark system change exactly?
is that beginners skill the only way to switch from light to dark or is there a way to automatically switch as your killing monsters?

Pretty much, yeah. A lot of people were REALLY annoyed when gMS did this-- they changed a unique, dynamic class into, well, just another mage.

No, you can keep using light/dark skills continuously with no restraint, and there is no auto change either. To change modes you would need to use a skill in the beginner tab.
Someone should start a petition to get the KMS' version of the gauge
so for example, i use a light skill first. then i have to continuously use dark skills until one wing is filled up inorder for me to change into dark mode?
After the second advancement, it'll start you off with what you attack with first. Then you need to fill in a full bar of the other type and click / use the skill that changes your type.
