Desktop getting stuck after 2 minutes

I reformatted my desktop today and re-installed Windows. I proceeded to install drivers from the drivers and utility disc that came with the computer. It got frozen at around 90% and never finished the rest 10%. I re-booted and now my computer keeps getting jammed 1-2 minutes after booting up. It just freezes up everything except my cursor. When I try to start up and close it immediately, it will just get stuck on the closing screen. My computer doesn't have anything yet because I can't get to download anything. However I managed to download and install my Internet connection thing from that 90%.

Does anyone know how to prevent it from getting stuck?

Probably the best thing would be to start over, reformat again and install Windows, just to get everything back to a fresh starting point.

Then see if you can install just the LAN (network) or WiFi (wireless) drivers (whichever your computer uses to get to the Internet).
Then once you're able to access the Internet, go to your computer manufacturer's web site and get the most recent drivers directly from the company and install those.

The discs that come with a computer are usually pretty outdated by the time you end up using them for a reformat/reinstall (unless the computer is very new), so it's better to get the very newest drivers direct from the company. They should have all the current equivalents for everything that's on the disc.

One other thing- why did you reformat in the first place..?
