Guess what I did in History Class today?

[i]note to mods: please note that in this context, the word that I am using is actually a character's name[/i]

I'm in AP US History, and we're in the Era of Grant, or the Post-Civil War Era.
During this era, there were many stories about "rags to riches" due to the industries of cattle herding, mining, homesteading, etc, that allowed people to get richer.
So we read a story that somebody wrote back then.
Its name?
"The Rise of Ragged Diick"
The fun doesn't end there. Throughout this story (it's like 3 pages long), there are passages like "Diick shrank back" and "combed his hair" and "rose at the presence of Mr R___" and stuff.

Easily the best story I read this year.
