@WhatIsAUsername: The biggest difference between that and the Black Widow is that the Func doesn't have as many software features.. So this means no marco keys or any of that stuff. I remember watching a review on it a while back and there didn't seem to be anything to complain about but nothing special about it. It does come with two USB ports which could be a plus in some eyes but lacks an audio pass through which could be seen as bad in others eyes. It does also have a wrist wrest which is nice. All up to you.
Thanks for the reply. I remember that you helped me out a lot over the summer by recommending the CM Storm switch tester. I just noticed today that it is finally back in stock but I think that I'll just get this razer black widow. It seems like a really good price at $90.
I remember you! The keyboard is great, and even better for the price. Hope you enjoy it!

Mechanical Keyboards are amazing. I have the Logitech G710+ (brown switches) and it's so smooooth. I dunno about Razer though.
1. Blue backlight was from the older Black Widow series pre 2013.
2. Mechanical keyboards are better for everything, not just gaming. Makes any typing better whether it's for gaming or for typing.

There's some hate for Razer like there is for Apple. I own the keyboard you linked and enjoy it. The reason why I picked this instead of a different keyboard is because I really need a audio pass through, and I like the look. If you wanted to look at different keyboards that still have the gaming features, I would check out Corsair's k90 or k75 as well as CoolerMaster's CM Storm series. If you're just looking for a keyboard and that's all, Ducky is a great option but very expensive. All of these keyboards are great so I would just pick which you feel best fits your needs.
1. I didn't know i was going to get it, i bought the razer BW ulti, and the packaging was green so i thought it would be green also. Came in blue which i like also my Death adder is also blue.
2. Steam FTW
3. Sure
Corsair k90 Mechanical full sized all buttons programmable, but the way the buttons stick out you might not like it, i personally enjoy the look
OR
Corsair k70 it has a touch of old school to it, same thing all buttons programmable and mechanical.
And just saying full Mechanical DO NOT COME CHEAP expect to spend 100-200 on a good one that can last about 5-10 Million single key presses for it to wear out the Mx switches.
But mouses are different.
