Starting A Graphic T-Shirt Business

So long story short my friend and I started making graphic tees in his basement for a project in high school... At a school of like 900 ish kids we were able to profit about 800$ in a week. Which we thought was pretty successful given our inexperience in designing and screen printing. We are now freshmen in college and see some huge potential for the rebirth of our t shirt company. The name is "The Alive Project" we came up with that name because we wanted to focus on spreading our ideas on life, using our tees as a vehicle to do so. In summary our ideas are simply to get outside, explore, appreciate the little things, and spend that time with family and friends, while encouraging others to do so. We have intentions of donating a portion of our profits to different wildlife organizations. We have run into some difficulty in the recent months because we are trying to redesign a little bit, and clean up and professionalize everything so that we can actually take this to the next step. Currently we are working on a website and our designs but we would like to create some sort of animal mascot and we cant seem to find one that seems fitting, we are trying to stay away from the ones that are commonly used like an elephant. So far we have thought of an octopus and a platypus.

I was hoping you guys may have some suggestions or experience with this process. Any and all advice is much appreciated.
