Yes, I like the leave the country idea. All the people talking about doing theft or running naked and things like that aren't thinking about one thing. For those 12 hours there would be tons of people just shooting people on sight like it's CoD real life edition. Going outside without weapons would be a death wish. Kill or be killed, and you're unable to do the killing so...

@cb000: Exactly the least you could do is defend yourself. Just because the rest of the world is horrible doesn't mean you have to die. Heck the world is pretty horrible as it stands right now.

I had this discussion with a friend today and he came up with an obvious answer: leave the country during the week of the purge.

I'd probably hide in the sewer with a buck knife, a gun would alert others to my location and the sewer is dark enough that I might be able to hide it out and even if not, I have great night vision and the darkness would give me a fighting chance.

OT If something like that were to exist guns would be readily available. If not I would have an automatic weapon anyway for self defense purposes. I would defend myself and family. I like how people say they would hide in a bomb shelter/etc/etc. Yes because those are readily available and in every ones back yard!

Try to get as many prescription pharmaceuticals from Wal-Greens as possible then rush back home and hide with some sort of weapon. I doubt people would get overly violent though.

i already live like 10 minutes walk from "the hood" so it probably wouldn't end well? i have a couple things that would probably be a bit worth stealing.

like i'd be fine w/ violently defending myself if i already had a gun...but that's not something i've bothered with at all yet.

I couldn't bring myself to murder someone, and I sure as hell don't want to get killed attempting to steal anything.

Go spend about a few grand on guns, ammunition. Use those to threaten people and steal items like PS3's and other consoles. Go back home, defend it for whatever time is left.
Hopefully i'll still be alive, and if I am then i'll sell those PS3's for their regular price and hopefully make some type of profit....
