Red 1 Boss vs 100 Maplers

I think in theory it sounds fun, but all i could think of was this

and then everyone will die from lag.

@TripleBladez: Yeah, the boss could be fought on a town type map. Towns are segmented so you don't 'listen' to someone on the other side of town.

@CaptCandy: Not chat, but people being there together is always a problem itself in a cluttered space like MS. You're suggesting the boss will take up multiple maps? The map could vertically and horizontally be extra wide, plain and simple, but MS is literally a 2D side scrolling MMORPG. It's not like a 3D game where you can have open space to move around freely.

Colossus the Giant isn't a boss (yet); it's more of a NPC. He's shown in various maps as the background image, I believe.

The biggest enemy in Maple right now is Colossus the Giant, and he takes up several maps.

The lag would be insane just from people being there. Chatting makes it even worse. Channel 1 FM Entrance (before they had the FM changing rooms button), and the Evolving World entrance map are both proof of examples of the chat lag, and I don't think either ever has up to 100 people in the same map.

Your damage and sound are still there. Some animations still show (e.g. AB's Soul Seeker, and Kaiser's Wingbeat) at Root Abyss bosses even though the damage from other players isn't shown.

@KingSamyu: I said it could be, because right now, there's a Colossus the Giant expansion to Leafre, and the giant takes up several maps.

@JoshKimODPC: That's like 100-150 Empresses, or a boss that requires 100 empress soloists post Unlimited.

Hey guys, you forgot that they make other players' numbers invisible when fighting bosses in Unlimited.

And for the 1:100 battle, it could take place over a series of maps, and when you die, you go back to the first Map.
And several paths fighting different components of the boss, and people split up and fight different components at once.

It could be that 100 are assembled and they fight in rounds/groups of 10, or 20, or 50. We don't know if it's going to be one boss versus 100 at a time, or parts of this one boss versus X at a time, or anything about it. I think NEXON knows that putting 100 people in an incredibly small map wouldn't be beneficial. It wouldn't have much to do with their server upgrades either because it's the players that are going to be affected, not the fact that there are 100 people on one map. The game won't crash, I mean, the players will, and that's why server upgrades really have no added benefit to something such as the 1:100 battle.

Perhaps 100 people is the max.
But a functional party of 30 is better than 100 trolls.

FM entrance is laggy enough with just people chatting. In a 100 player map, there are gonna be those idiots spamming "S> 42ATK Kandayo @@@@@@"

I'd love a new server, and it's about time we got a change. But 100 people? It doesn't sound like alot, but the entrance to the free market is around 100 people.
I guess time will tell.

It would be fun if the boss would actually hit over 99.999,that way we would have more buffers in parties,like DrKs and Bishops.It would be cool,BUT NOPE,JUST ANOTHER BOSS WITH A TON OF HP.

Yeah I agree. It sounds stupid unless it works like Ani used to work. You'd get the invite on your head. I could then see it working, but still not sure.
