Confused about Clannads ending
So I just finished watching Clannad After Story and after a few more minutes of crying, I asked myself: what the hell just happened?
I was able to follow most of it up until the end. So now I'm wondering if you guys could answer these 3 questions:
1. What exactly went on in the last episode after the girl and the robot thing disappeared? To me it seemed like Tomoya went back in time but I'm not entirely sure about it.
2. What exactly is up with the world with the girl and the robot? It appeared a lot of times throughout the series and I don't really know much about it. Right now all I know is the the girl is Ushio and the robot is Tomoya.
3. Is Fu.ko important at all to the plot? The very last scene where she finds Ushio made me think she is.
Also if anyone is able to post a link to a detailed explanation of the plot that would be greatly appreciated.

The movie's just a retelling of the anime, and it's awful.
Understand Clannad was originally a game. The adaption into a series required some changing of the structure and that's why you have the existence of the 'Illusory world'.

Short answer: Dragon Balls.
Long answer: In the VN, Tomoya collected little orbs of light at the end of each character's route and used them to revive Nagisa. The other world with the little girl and the robot was a personification of Tomoya's feelings... sort of.

Don't watch the movie. It's the series compressed into a couple of hours and injected with a few doses of "suck."

I recently watched CAS as well, and I wasn't exactly too confused but I missed bits and pieces, although this in-depth explanation really helped me understand 99% of what happened.

The robot's Tomoya, from a parallel universe, and the girl is Ushio.
When Nagisa died, Tomoya went into a different parallel universe.
When Ushio died, Tomyoa went back to the normal universe.
Fuuko's just for being awesome. And Fuuko finding Ushio at the end was just to complete the foreshadowing in the first opening song.
Don't worry, it was confusing the first time for me too.

Pretty sure it was a dream or something, either way the ending was stupid.
