Dual Blade vs Shadower?
Hey guys, I'm currently a DB but considering changing to a Shadower (Hugely because I don't like my katara ruining my chef outfit) LOL
It's been a while since I've played maple so I don't know a lot at all about shadowers:
- Which one is better at mobbing?
- Which is the better bosser?
- More mobile?
- Most fun?

I started it out as a Shad but I didn't like how slow the attacks and buffing animations were. Switched to DB and instantly loved it. I hit fast but low, but they are mobile as heck so I'm ok with that. I also bought a perm transparent katara, worth every penny.

you cant use most skills without a katara
& like everyone has said already, shad will give you high hits with low range, but once you start to cap you kinda hit a roadblock until midnight carnival can hit a ton of damage; whereas DB you start out slow but can outdamage a shad capping with assassinate
transparent katara?
you just missed out on the perma version too...
Dkhanjars and khanjars may also ruin your chef outfit, and equipping a scabbard really makes no difference in your range. If one of the reasons why you want to switch to Shad is because they do decent damage even without the secondary then go ahead. (Otherwise if you really don't care about damage then you could unequip the katara?)
Otherwise basically what everyone else said:
- Which one is better at mobbing: Both the same really. Someone with low funding at SH would have an easier time using Boomerang.
- Which is the better bosser?: Shad at low and extremely high funding and DB otherwise.
- More mobile: In terms of moving around they're about the same. I find that DBs are more mobile during bossing because you can't use Assassinate while jumping.
- Most fun: I like both, but if you like faster attacks with less delay then it would be a DB. If you don't mind a Shad's slowness and like higher damage for low funding, give Shads a try.

It depends on range for the damage questions. Shadower is strange, at little funding it does great, when it comes to medium range and funding it falls off (When compared to dual blades), but hitting max damage on all lines, it would be the strongest. I personally preferred my dual blade more than my shadower because its a lot more mobile and less clunky. Shadowers are very slow and 'bulky' compared to other thieves.
Slower attacks but hit higher, or faster attacks but hit lower.
