Should I upgrade to Windows 8.1 from 8.0?

Title. Also post why or why not to.

This is my laptop but it came with 4GBs of RAM and Windows 8 64-bit.

I would like the advice of the human supercomputer @BobR, and anyone else knowledgeable on the subject really.

@BobR: Yeah I'll upgrade soon as I clean out my fans, don't want it overheating in the process.

@xipwnux99 Yes.... very definitely upgrade to Windows 8.1.
Most of the changes are internal so you won't see much if any difference, but they fixed a lot of stuff and made things work better over the initial release.
They also made a few changes to make it more "backwards compatible/friendly" for people who are familiar with earlier versions of Windows and who were totally put off by the new interface. There's supposed to be a new patch released in the fall which is said will bring back the familiar "Start" button also.

8.1 has been pretty widely recognized as an essential upgrade.
I've tried both windows 8 and 8.1 and they're too similar to even bother "upgrading." It'd just be a waste of time to update.
And the resolution of that laptop screen is just horrendous. </3
1366 x 768 is horrendous? Its an average resolution for a laptop and the screen size. For a laptop that isn't powerful and is about that screen size anything above that would just decrease performance and probably not look right.

I understand that they're not all that different but I just want to make sure there is no major bugs or anything like that that would make me not want to upgrade.
I have no idea what's the big issue
There isn't any.

M$ took a jab at the mobile marketplace, hence Metro's existence, so PC gamers were severely asspained and started to cherry-pick anything remotely bad with 8/8.1. The biggest complaint is "WOW METRO SUX," even though you can disable it within 2 minutes, plus the flat colors are an upgrade from W7's hideous aero glass (which takes 50x the effort to modify compared to disabling Metro).

Gaymers will spout that "hurrdurr metro is worste" crap, but W8.1 is a significant upgrade from W7.

Yes upgrade, the UI isn't different but they made it so it runs a lot smoother. You should notice a difference in speed when you upgrade.
