If you plan to make that your only mage and don't plan on quitting it then buy the deimos, it will save you the money. But if you plan on cubing and stuff then you might as well get a vip since the cost of it is less than a single red cube I think. Personally, I would buy VIP for resale value or if I want to switch to another mage I can just reuse it.

You're better off getting a VIP shield or a Fearless Prelude.
Those of the shields you listed are untradable upon equipping.
