Does fusing a Vip Item to look like a Fanfir Item work? Can you also get the Fanfir Set's effect?

Like the guy above said, it's just for looks (though considering it's 2,7k nx and all the possibilities, i think it's better than any perma NX out there!
Also:
You can fuse any hat into any other hat, as long as they're the same type of equip it can be fused. However there are still gender specific items out there so remember that. Also you can fuse a pre- fused item. Example: If you want the looks of a Pickpocket Pilfer, but cant find a real one, you can use a pre- fused one, it wont matter, the way the item your fusing with looks, that's how your item will end up looking.

naw, man. just the looks tranfer, no set effect.
and it works on the same type weapons. gun to gun; 1handed sword to onehanded sword.
for tops and bottoms its get tricky because you can only transfer the look of gender neutral clothes and armors.
