Help downloading iTunes music?

I have hundreds of songs of my iPhone. The way I got them was from syncing with my family's computer (a desktop). The account that they are attached to, however, is my mom's. When I got my phone, I created my own iTunes, iCloud, etc. account, and I want to bring the music over to my account. How do you import music from a device into iTunes? Thanks for any help

P.S. Will it work if some of the songs on the iPhone were illegally downloaded?
