Scrolling or Purchasing Good Items?

Hey guys, in the threads I sometimes see people saying how scrolling items yourselves are cheaper but time consuming, however that seems unlikely to me. For example, you screw up one advanced gollux scroll on a superior gollux item and then prices deflate to below original price. Alright, so please answer on what you thing is less expensive and how/why? Thank you.
Um that's the point of clean slates. If it's reinforced or superior, it's really not worth selling if it's missing slots
Hm, so if I fail 1 scroll out of 5, I would have to successfully clean slate it to sell it for more than what I spent?.

@xxryzinxx2:
It'll really depend. It's based on your market of the world, and whether or not people would be interested in the item. For the case of reinforced, I find people selling 3/5 pendants for 300-400m, and 4/5 pendants for 500-800 usually. Sometimes it'll be higher and sometimes it'll be lower. It comes down to whether luck was in your favor or not while scrolling.
Alright so lets say this happens. You buy a reinforced gollux pendant for 50m. Then you scroll it 5 times and 3/5 or 4/5 gollux scrolls work. Exactly how much could you sell those for? Would it still be more than what you spent on it or lower is what i'm trying to figure out lol.

To give u a clear example,
I sold a "perfected" reinforced gollux pendant for 1b (only +5 it wasnt hammered). Assuming I broke it down to the components, the pendant was about 50m, and 5 gollux scrolls come out to about 500m in my world. Theoretically, making it would of only costed 550m, but of course that was only because I was lucky.
It all comes down to luck. It's "cheaper" to make your own, but it's just more convenient to buy already made ones. You basically pay for labor when you buy finished items.
Depends on how lucky you are. i went through so much white scrolls to scroll some gollux gear, and in the end i ended up spending the same amount of money.

Because when you sell an item it usually has to be for more than it cost to make it. Therefore, almost by definition, making it yourself is cheaper on average. The exception is with equips other people are throwing away, since they value the equip less than it's actually worth.
