Grade 13 begins tomorrow

Hey guys,
So, basically my offer for university got revoked BECAUSE i was a GRAND total of 0.2 % off. -_- imagine the pain. I tried my best to get in, and called up other universities. Almost every program i was interested was full. Im so screwed...
So, i decided to take another semester of high school, and to improve my marks and get into an even better university.
BUT, its weird. Never in my life would i have thought about grade 13. Im going to a new highschool, and this high school has10x more druggies than the school i attended all together for 4 years. I dont know anyone there. I dont know what its like, and i dont know what to say to people when they ask 'Oh, What university are you in' .

What makes it worse...is i have a twin brother. He is living on residence and is becoming a doctor or something pro in the medical field. People congratulate him, and then go blank when they look at me. I was 0.2% off, honestly didnt think this would happen. SO here i am, grade 13.

I really need to get my average to a 90% this year with good EC`S. 'Extra Curricular's'. Any Tips/Ideas?
A week late for registering, and finally school tomorrow. Pretty scared.

Did you only apply to a single school or something?

As for grades and ECs, there's no tip that I can provide for you aside from taking advantage of all opportunities and studying hard, because that's the first step in general, and not being able to succeed it implies lack of motivation in the first place.[/quote]

I don't know if this applies anywhere else but where I'm from you usually get "conditional" University offers (usually early on in 12th grade). Its conditional as they look at your mid-term marks and give out offers based on that. The school has the right to revoke the offer if your FINAL marks at the end of the year just don't meet their expectations (as in your mark dropped since they last checked at mid-terms).

OT: I'm not sure what kind of EC's your school offers, but you can always go for student council. Being a 13th grader you probably know everything about the school already, anyway. Other than that join as many relevant clubs as available and if you can think of any good ideas that haven't been used yet you can always found a club yourself and leave sort of a legacy when you graduate again.

What. Why not just go into university undeclared, retake your SAT's so you look better, maintain a 4.0 in your general ed classes (Try and take honors if they're available. Looks better on your transcript and they're easier than the regular sections most of the time. More critical thinking, less busy work), and reapply to the college that you want? That seems more productive than repeating high school.

Edit: It's probably too late now, but there's usually always space for undeclared majors. Exploring majors isn't as competitive as premed.

@MikeVit: Most university program have a cut-off that they expect, OR they want you to be close to a certain number. I was 0.2 off... 85.8 % from 68% so they said nop. I know its completely ridiculous. I asked the program admission officer tons of questions, and she was just quiet. LAME. and, yes i got my highschool diploma. I did well in school. In ontario,Canada im allowed to go to school uptil 21? i think... but 18 in highschool. Im still 17 ... so technically i can do a full year, or a semester. I chose semester as i really dont need that many upgrades/courses.
but srsly fml ;3

@WorkOfArt i actually applied to various programs. Got accepted to 4/6. Since my top choice got revoked, i called up each uni for the other 3 universitys and they were ALL full. I was put on waitlist, hoping for some chance. I can`t believe this has happened. I knew someone who had the same issue last year, and i guess its me this year. Im sure theres plenty like me as i browse through forums like Studentawards.com

Your offer at a university got revoked? I've never heard of this unless they've discovered you forged something on your applications. What do you mean you were 0.2% off. 0.2% off of what? Did this just happen? Rutgers, for example, started almost a week ago. I've also never heard of spending another semester in high school since you didn't get into college. Did you not graduate HS a few months ago?

I've hear that the first year of college is something like Grade 13, but I beg to differ with that. Within a week the pace changed so much here than to my high school. I miss high school academia already.

Anyways you might wanna do GPA booster classes, join clubs that you'll find interesting. What college or university were you going in anyways? To have a GPA of a 90% to not get revoked is pretty elite in itself.
