Does anyone on Basil Market actually care?
Do you (the community) actually care about detailed and informative discussion? From MANY YEARS here I've basically observed a very large population of people wanting to cram their own opinions into a thread and then get out without reading other posts or contributing to a discussion.

Same as many other basilers, depends on the topic.
I ended up engaging in a long-winded discussion a few times but not on purpose
I usually come back and check threads twice or thrice in case of any new comments.

Not at all. Sometimes I'll lurk for fun but I mainly come here to buy or sell.
Uhh, if TS actually cares for the input and is curious, (it's rare) I might send them a PM where they can get more information on a topic that I think I can help on. If not I'm just posting here on the thread.

and i'd rather other people initiate a discussion w/ me than vice versa (though i do try sometimes)
