(99% of) Women who wear makeup don't end up looking like that. Also, wearing makeup isn't vain. It's all up to the individual on how they want to make themselves look/feel good about themselves, and if it's by wearing makeup, then good for them.

And usually when people say things like "women look better without makeup" they usually don't know what 'no makeup' actually looks like. They see women on Neutrogena commercials splashing water on their 'makeup free' faces and think that's the norm. They just don't know those women ARE wearing makeup (and are airbrushed / photoshopped). I have to put on like 5 things to make it look like I'm not wearing anything. And to me, that "natural looking makeup" is the best looking, since most people wouldn't even be able to tell you're wearing it.

That's a very very bad example. You can look very very good with make up. I myself love when the makeup doesn't show too much but makes a big difference.

I can't really speak for people who wear makeup (because I only wear makeup for shows and other special occasions) but for some people, makeup gives them the confidence they need to go outside and be themselves. Some people need that barrier...

Like I said, I don't wear makeup, but I love it! It's so fun~ You can become a different person by drawing on your face! But making it stay on can get a bit annoying... Sometimes I wing my eyeliner out, and it's gone after I sat down for a while! And then there's pancake... It's so hard to put on evenly! >.< AND OMG FAKE EYELASHES! We have a love-hate relationship. They make your eyes look like 2x bigger, but putting them on is a whole different story. And when you poke your eye with eyeliner... asdghfjk;

Exactly this. Makeup makes my face sweaty really fast. It feels uncomfortable and I feel like a clown everytime I try it.

If a girl looks better without makeup (I've met a few), I'll tell them. Sometimes they actually don't wear makeup after that, it's nice.
If a girl looks better with makeup, I don't say anything.

On topic: I have a pet theory that girls are good at art because applying makeup is basically art. Brushes, pencils, layering, masking, all that stuff is like a whole intro. to drawing that guys never learn. Maybe being able to use makeup isn't a bad thing.

@wallflowers I have to disagree with you on the "looks matter" part cause I have this one customer who is 16 and she is overweight, has not consideration for her appearence, no hygene. Now I dont care what she looks like seeing how she is underage but the smell is horrible. She smells like she hasnt showered in weeks yet somehow she has a boyfriend who looks like he takes care of himself and is 18 from what he claims, never shows me his ID. I dont see it but they do, not like its my business anyway lol.

That relationship solidifies my belief that everyone sees the opposite sex in a way thats different from how other people see that same person.

Dont worry.
I started my makeup craze when i was 15 and its been a year since i started buying makeup.
Ive spent around $600~$700 on makeup and since i didnt buy the higher end products i probably have more than you.
Not to mention i still didnt buy any lip products other than the EOS balm spheres so i could spend maybe $150~$200 more before im satisfied.

As for help i would just find a limit where if you dont know when youd use it thats when you stop.
But if you have an actual reason to buy all your makeup then its okay (other than wanting to look pretty). Just remember: limits and moderation.
My reason for buying makeup is not because i want to look pretty but because i want to be a drag queen (im a boy) when i grow up so practicing now will greatly benefit me.

I bust out the make-up 2-3 times a year and I don't think I look like ass without it. Well, unless I purposely let myself go.
That being said, I don't like it when people give extreme examples and then say "girls look better w/o makeup because of my extreme example" either.
