Gonna restart maplestory

Which class should I make? I'm looking for a class that is cheap to fund but deals damage (pls no aran), I was thinking a nightlord, or a dark knight. I'm going to have 0 funds. I just came back from maybe a year break, so I guess i'll have an 'idea' of what to do.
Also what should I do as far as making mesos?

I suggest making a Zero while they're out, though keep in mind you need a lvl 100+ character on your account in order to make one. The character card is very useful, they rarely use pots, and they deal a lot of damage. Funding isn't easy due to the high price of % str though. Even if you don't want to main it, it would be useful to at least make one.

Level up a Lumi until you can do gollux prequests. Knock those out and then farm coins everyday until you have enough to get gollux gear. Sell them for a quick 1b+ or use them, either way. I found Lumi to be the easiest to kill gollux as you literally just stand in the corner and let your reflection skill kill everything.

Since you are just returning to the game, I recommend starting with Mercedes for her link skill (Just to help leveling in-general). Afterwards, collect other link skills you deem important. Not only do you get to try out different characters, you may even decide to main one of them. Though you may come to dislike some of the classes, their link skills will still develop that particular class you decide to main, improving its overall performance.

Night lord requires a lot of funding because it is squishy. I'd recommend Demon Avenger due to no hp pots and high base damage and easy to fund if needed to fund at all.
