Mercedes post release nerf, cant train

I have to admit, I haven't touched the character in ages.

But what I keep remembering about the Mercedes is that how I keep dying if I try to level up with him. He's a pot drainer and his damage doesn't leave much to be amazed about. The worst thing is, that the Mercedes is the highest character I have. THATS how much I enjoyed this class. But the constant dying and having to spam potions.

But then again, I missed about two years orso of nerfes and buffs to classes. So.. Did things get even worse since the post release nerf that came when Phantom/Some other jobs around that time came out?

Try getting more defense and damage reduction. I have 50% damage reduction and max avoid and defense and take 1's at most from all Mu Lung Dojo bosses.

Yes, you'll be fine. Use honsters from NLC and never be afraid to use a potion too early.
With all that stuff you should have about 9k hp or more.

Alright, thanks for telling me what is coming up.

I am looking foward to the changes that are coming.
Think I will have good survivabilty with the character cards and link skills I have in my possesion?

@YummiShumi
Everything @simaini said is what the current state of Mercedes is after the few buffs they received.
Oh, and Lightning Edge got a debuff effect which is okay.
There is however another upcoming buff for Mercedes that kms has already received.

Unicorn Spike: damage boost on debuffed monsters has been increased from 15% to 30%, chance to activate has been increased from 95% to 100%
Rolling Moonsault: damage has been increased from 180% to 300%
Ishtar's Ring: damage has been increased from 155% to 200%
Legendary Spear: defense reduction debuff has been increased from 20% to 30%
Lightning Edge: debuff duration has been increased from 10 seconds to 15 seconds
Increase your hp by getting character cards and filling the 3 decks.
The aran card gives a nice drain effect which can help you a little bit.
Link skills help with survivability too! Kaiser, Beast tamer and Cannoneer give some %hp (total of +18% hp from those 3 links at level 1).
Zero's link skill gives damage reduction which is also very helpful.
If you reach level 140, you should get the empress set which gives a nice amount of %hp.
Also don't forget about Mercedes' skills!
Water shield gives damage reduction, Ignis Roar gives passive evade and Ancient warding gives more hp!

With all these taken into account you should be able to survive a lot more better!
Let's add it all up!
-Link skills +18%hp (kaiser + beast tamer + cannoneer lvl1 link)
-Empress set +15%hp (3 set effect)
-Empress equips +650 hp (Glove + Hat)
-Character cards +1500 hp (3 A Rank decks, no dark knight included)
-Ancient Warding skill +1500 hp (Maxed)

That's a total of 33% of your max hp + 3650hp on top!
The best part is your can increase your hp even more by getting higher ranked decks and improved link skills
AND you also have a total of 30% damage reduction + Zero link skill (15% damage reduction at max level 180)!
Also don't forget about Mercedes decent avoidability!

If you're still having trouble surviving, try tag along some friends to give you buffs such as beast tamer, dark knight, bishop and many more!
Also linking skills together with rising rush and gust dive give you invincibility frames so you can get hit a little less.

If you're still dying, then you should play dark knight or paladin or not play at all.
I do have Cannoneer, Beast tamer and Kaiser. But I missed out on Zero.
The beast tamer is currently 120 so its linkskill has increased.

If you want to know the characters I have, feel free to look at them through basil. All characters that I have are listed over there.
Is there anything I've missed regarding updates that are important to Mercedes?

mercedes received a lot of buffs. they're even stronger than when they were released i believe. 150% ishtar is really strong, and spikes royale and lightning edge don't have cooldowns anymore. their survivability still sucks though. however, there are a ton of new link skills and character cards that will make your survivability slightly better.
i'm not sure about phantoms though. i think they're a lot stronger now, but they still have the annoying cooldown when you're switching skills.
