Golluxs Left Shoulder Teleport Rock

Hey, I've been picking these up in hopes that I could use them to skip the hassle of getting to Gollux, but no matter where I use the gollux's Left Shoulder Teleport Rock from, it say "you cannot use a teleport rock in this location". What gives? are the rocks useless?

You should be on the map with the Gollux Body.

You have to be on the boss map. Not the map before you enter nor the one before that

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

OT: It should work anywhere, if it doesn't it's probably glitched. Although I did use one just a couple days ago.
