The Christmas events ended on the 30th instead of 31st. The dice game was all but unplayable for several days before it ended and you couldn't do one of the quests a week before it was supposed to end.
Now, I wouldn't bet against it either. There are events that were supposed to end in January that are still running and NPCs in towns for events that ended a long time ago.
