Are there any minimalists out there?

I'm interested in Minimalism but I was having trouble starting out.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Ahhhh ok, I think I got it now. It's a difference in paradigms. See, I believe my existence is temporary and superficial, so filling my life with things equally temporary and superficial only makes perfect sense to me.
That's interesting. I've never thought of it that way. But I thought that there becomes an issue when you run out of things to do that are temporary or superficial and then life feels a lot worse since you've been on the temporary 'high' of whatever you've been doing. I guess minimalism is learning to enjoy life through the simple.

The concept of Minimalism is that a lot of our possessions are unnecessary and only tie us down. Without these things, we can focus on more fulfilling experiences in life. Okay well, I'm still starting out so I'm not quite sure what to do without video games, especially because I'm on holidays LOL. I don't want to be a minimalist like Ghandi or something but I want to have less. I don't know why I'd need really flashy possessions to climb the social ladder. I never wear in your face graphic t shirts. And that idea of self worth is what minimalism is trying to remove because it's temporary and superficial.

LOL nvm. Why would you wanna be a minimalist anyway? How are you going to spend your time w/o video games? How are going to climb the social ladder w/o material possessions? How will people know what you're like w/o in-your-face graphic t-shirt? Where will you get your self worth w/o an of excess of friends, sex, and expensive accessories? Minimalism is just over my head I guess

Well, it feels a little difficult because I'm still a teenager living in my parent's house. So everything is theirs and they don't like throwing things out or giving it to others even when they don't use it because it'd be a waste or we MIGHT need to use it in the future.

Sounds like a lot of trouble, just do the bare minimum.
