If you like spammable full screen vertical range mobbing, then Battle Mage is the best with their level 170 hyper (it's also your best bossing move combined with Finishing Blow). There's also Luminous of course, but you did say you didn't want one...
I personally think that Kanna has viability for mobbing - Nimbus Curse DoT and Kishin Shoukan have the potential to clear a platform on their own, and Kanna has a plethora of "mobbing" moves - Tengu Strike, Spirit Corral, Yakshas, Orochi, Falling Sakura, Soul Shear (15 lines on up to 10 mobs with enough soul fragments is pretty darn powerful, although it can't crit), among others. The downside with Kanna is your mana supply, so you can't always spam your 8+ mob moves, and if you don't have enough mana (there seems to be a bug in that Kanna can cast mana consuming spells with a empty mana pool, but the spells don't do damage) you're forced to use Shikigami Haunting, which is decent DPM but only hits 3 mobs.
As far as explorer mages go, I haven't played any one of them to 4th job, so my knowledge is lacking in that department.
Bishop was My first class, its a great class back in the early years (2009-2012). but after most of the classes become OP, the bishop became more and more under use. i did move over to the F/P, and they are a great class and strategy, but deep down i still go around as my Bishop.
Umm F/P is a lot stronger, and definitely better at DIPQ and Evo because they can stack skills (poison guy, firewall, poison mist, on top of your usual paralyze and mist explosion combos). But like in general maps, I/L because of their reflection .... which is super short range ...
Well, it actually depends. F/P is better in DIPQ and Evo because of the clumped up mobs, while I/L is the best mobber in general. Bishops, I'm not so sure about. They're okay. LOL

Battle mage is way better than explorer mages at mobbing
Do battle mages not count as mages anymore? Or are they just trash now?

I/L's inferior Reflection!
