Which would be better?
I got a new RA helm since my old one sucked and I was wondering if it would be better to use spell traces to scroll it for main stat or CoG and try to get a lot of attack on it?

Well if you have something with amazing potential, just be patient and use ICoGs from coin shops, etc. If its just an okay potential then Regular cogs would be okay too, or the 70% spell trace and Innocence it later when you want to work on it again.
Primes are best. But expensive. So cog it all the way

Usually the best thing is ICoG or CoG due to more attack is a bigger boost, since most of your equips usually have %STR on them already
Edit: I'm not rich but the 30% trace might be better,not sure. I used a regular CoG on my pants and it gave me 3 STR and 2 ATT which is pretty good though.
