1% clean slates better than 20%?

This video show some guy using 1% clean slate scroll. And it seems to work out really well. These days do the slates blow up your gear when they fail? When i read the scroll it doesnt say anything about blowing ur gear up. 1% are like 1mil compared to 20% which are 100mil

People don't give a care in the world for 40m items. However if their 2b+ item is blown up then that's a different story.
