Why Luminous is a mage I want to tell you guys that pirates wasn't existing at this time, Kyrin was still a baby during the Black Mage fight. Kyrin was the person who created the pirate class after lefting Athena from Henesys to go to Omega Sector to create the pirates and the Nautilus(proof there a link beetween Omega Sector and Nautilus, go in tue captain room) She did this class for fight Black Mage that killed her father. And Luminous was alive during this Fight, that why he has ability like Phantom, Aran,Mercedes and unlike Freud that's the 1st Mage hero and died at this time.
