Not exactly art This is more of a writing on philosophy and politics. It's especially relevant to me as I am a first generation immigrant from Ukraine (I was born in Konotop) My family was hurt hugely over the years in the 20th century, largely at the hands of Stalin and the USSR. Something like 80% of my family was murdered in the 1930's through Stalin's staged famines disguised disgustingly as modernization. So anyways...I hate communism and just wanted to explain my feelings towards it. Most people won't have a clue what I'm saying and I'm willing to bet less than 0.75 people actually read any of this. I'm not writing this for that reason. My reason for writing this, lol, is simply because I want to practice my English, I want to organiz

Your favourites? very long thread about arts/humanities Just a subject I enjoy reading about other people talk about....though I've never seen it asked in such a broad or cohesive manner. Basically, as far as the humanities(subjects related to and consisting of 'things' or 'ideas' created by humans) go...what are your all time favourites? Try to narrow them as much as you can. And yeah, this is a long message and I know hardly anyone will have the patience or interest to see it through...I'm just hoping a few people do so I can hear, hopefully, about new things out there that I haven't been exposed to yet and can try out. I really love art and the experience of virtually all forms of it...so finding out about new stuff is just really reward

I love how Basil Market is so censored and sensitive and prone to suspending anyone and everyone for the slightest moral oriented infraction...yet the ad service being used is consistently advertising 50 shades of Grey which is basically just a glorified...well, you know. the p...o...r... word. Can't even say it here but the straight up subject of the word is being splashed with semi graphic images on every page. Meh, I realize they've no control over the content of the ads but the dichotomy and inferred hypocrisy is amusing and interesting to me to say the least.
