Physical Science Homework This is my homework for a college freshman level Physical Science class, and I need a little bit of help with it. We're dealing with problems with heat. It states: I place coffee, ready to boil, on a burner which produces 625,000 J of energy. Treating it as water, how much coffee will boil away? Another problem: I combine 195 g of metal @ 25 degrees Celsius to 110 g of hot water @ 100 degrees Celsius. If the final temperature is 88 degrees Celsius, what metal might it be? (I have a table with specific heats and thermal properties for different metals, but I don't know how to get to the point where I can use it..) Does anybody know how to do it? :S
