Problem, I just applied thermal paste to Cpu Ok so I just cleaned my cpu and heatsink. I then reapplied fresh thermal paste (a little smaller then pea sized) and put everything back together. Now when I turn on my PC it goes to the start up windows for about 10 seconds and then turns off. Occasionally it will restart but still never getting past the startup window. I followed countless tutorials on how to do this process and I was extra careful handling everything. Any Idea what could be wrong? I turned on the PC without the side casing to see if all fans are working properly and I also checked to see if any thermal paste was leaking out of the sides. Im stuck.

Pc rebooting out of nowhere now So as of 3 days ago, my PC has been randomly rebooting out of no where. I have ran a Memtest and nothing is wrong with my RAM. personally I think it is the PSU because I noticed it gets hot on the back of it AND after it has rebooted a few times, it eventually can't even make it to the desktop. Which im assuming because it slowly is weakening to the point it can't fully power on. Just a guess. Would there be anything else I should try before having to buy a whole new PSU? thx for any help. I have also applied fresh thermal paste to the cpu,

Comp keeps restarting, I can access Bios though My computer is a Compaq Presario SR5710F. It has no problem accessing the BIOS but all the other options like Safe mode will just restart the computer at the Windows loading screen. Before the computer restarts, a blue screen flashes really quick and it says "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME". I can't even install a fresh copy or repair of windows because it just gets stuck at "Examining 238473 MB Disk 0 at ID 0 on bus 0 on nvatabus...". Is there anything I can try in the BIOS to fix this problem? I really don't to buy a new computer = /.. any help would be much appreciated!
