online high school? i'm going into my senior year of highschool and all the good teachers that i liked have all retired/left. my schedule is horrible and i'm not gonna be able to switch my classes to anything much better because the lady that makes our schedules is worthless. i'm considering doing online schooling for this year but don't know what it's generally like. i know it's different school to school, state to state etc. but what would it be like? do you have to be online every day from time x to y and get all of your assignments in on that day? do you have to get into a voice call with your teacher to present like a report to them or something? how does testing work? considering you're at a computer and there isn't a teacher behind y

house prices where you live? how are house prices where you live? i live in ohio and real estate seems dirt cheap here compared to other places. i see mansions going up for sale all the time for under a mil. beachfront properties right on lake erie for really cheap, too. this place sold for 750k recently. it's crazy to me that in some places 750k will get you a 2 bedroom house and here it'll get you a literal mansion. i also saw another 9000 sq ft house with an indoor pool and huge back yard being sold for 210k cash. a normal 2-3 bed house costs about 50-75k and it'll be pretty nice. you can find some 2 story houses for under 20k but they need some repairs.
new desk help i'm trying to decide between building or buying a desk. normally, building things yourself is cheaper, but wood for desks is expensive, so if you mess the wood up, you have to replace that piece. finding a desk that suits you is a problem on the other side of the spectrum. desk prices are ridiculous because they're extremely inefficient for what i want one for. they're filled with cabinets and other added costs that throw the price way up there. i want to build a desk that will last me awhile. the last two desks i've had have needed upgrades because of a lack of space. my current desk is only 4 ft long. that can hold my dual monitor setup and mic, but that's about it. there's two different types of desks that i'm deciding betw

whats something that scares you not the typical answer such as dying, darkness, etc., but something that scares you that doesn't normally scare people for example, i have an extreme fear of the movie spirited away. from what i understand, it's supposed to be some movie that everyone can watch, but holy christ. i watched the movie when i was young and i was seriously traumatized with nightmares about it for like a year. i see pictures from the movie around these days still, but now that doesn't really freak me out. i still refuse to actually watch the movie though, and i'm 18 now. on the brightside, i haven't had any nightmares at all since i was like 10, which is nice what's something unusual that scares you?
need man cave ideas i have a spare 30'x14' room in my house that i'm gonna convert into a mancave. i'll be putting in 3 open sections into the room for 3 different activities. in one corner of the room i'm going to put a pool table and the accessories for it. don't really know what else i could fit into there. you need open space to be able to play pool so i can't think of anything else. in the middle section i'm gonna have a home theater setup. just a 4k tv, fancy couch, an external hard drive filled with a ton of movies and tv shows, surround sound system(don't know how well that'll work with it being a big open room though), a water dispenser, and all of my gaming consoles. maybe i'll throw in a mini fridge or something also. in the othe

strange school grading policy this school year, my highschool has adopted some new form of grading. the way it used to be was that teachers got to decide how many points an assignment they gave us was worth. this year though, it's been changed so that tests are 50%, quizzes 30% and hw 20%. before in our classes, you could do all of your hw and get good grades on it and bomb a test pretty hard and still pass the class, but this year we're being forced to do good on tests otherwise we'll fail. the unsurprising part of this story is that over half of the students in the highschool are now failing, including about 75% of the seniors. the school administration noticed this and to try to save themselves from the blame, they ended up blaming all o
