why do people zero out their computer i have fraps installed on my computer and i accidentally start recording way more times than i'd like to admit, and it always end with my computer being out of memory. from what i understand, the data that you delete from recycle bin doesn't actually delete until your hard drive needs that space. people go through the trouble of zeroing out their hard drive with special software for it, but it seems like it'd just be way easier to get a recording software that takes a lot of space and recording until your out of hard drive space, not to mention faster, too. then if they need to, they could just reset the computer back to factory settings after that and still save time compared to having to zero out the

problem with logitech g930 mic i got a g930 and was trying to record voice and my voice sounded way different than normal with it. i was playing with the settings a bit and that helped. it was really robot-like but i did manage to fix it a bit. here is how my voice sounds with it. my voice sounds higher than normal with it and every time i stop saying a word the mic turns off if you can notice. heres an example of how my voice normally sounds. that was recorded with a blue snowball. anyone have any idea what may be wrong that my voice sounds different between the 2? the g930 has a audio program it comes with, so i think it

issue installing gpu i've been having major issues installing my new gpu. it inserts into the slot perfectly and the fans kick on but my computer isn't recognizing the new gpu. the motherboard is a pegatron 2ac2 and the gpu is a asus radeon r7 260x. i've deleted my old gpus driver and have tried to install the new driver, but it isn't recognizing that driver, either. the only driver that it picks up now is "standard vga graphics adapter" and if i delete it, the next time i turn on my computer it redownloads itself. i've tried running the cd driver that came with the gpu and when i try it says "please install vga cards of asus." my monitor is hooked directly into my dvi slot because if i try hooking it in thru the gpu the

desktop constantly restarting my desktop is messed up right now and i'm not exactly sure why. yesterday i decided to factory reset it to get rid of all of the junk that has accumulated on my computer over the last few years, and now it's constantly restarting itself. before the reset, the computer was working 100% fine with no viruses or anything. now the computer is turning off maybe every 30 mins or so, then turning itself back on maybe another minute later. i've tried shutting off the pc, but it turns right back on again. the only things that i've installed on it since the reset are chrome, maplestory, bandicam, and my mouses and gpus drivers. i think it could be something to do with my gpus drivers because even after installing the driv

computer gpu issue i recently bought a new gpu (radeon r7 260x) and messed with it for a good 10-15 hours and it wouldn't work. i went to 3 computer stores and none of them could figure out what was wrong. i dropped it off at geeksquad and they were sure the gpu was fried on arrival (not that i exactly trust geeksquaders to know what they're doing, i doubt they even checked the gpu with a different computer.) i talked to the company i bought it from and they're taking a nice long time to send out the packaging info for me to send back the gpu. i paid them an extra 10 bucks for faster delivery too when i first bought it and they refuse to refund that. not worried about them trying to rip me off, but it's taking forever. it'll be another good

pc building question i'm gonna be building a new desktop soon and i wanna try to recycle some bits from my current desktop to put into the new one i'm gonna build. the graphics card i have currently is a nvidia gtx 650 ti, which is becoming cheap and outdated. still works quite well for gaming, though. i also have 2 4gb ram sticks and a 1 tb hard drive that i'd like to bring to the new pc if possible. i was wondering if it would be possible to have 2 different gpus and types of ram in a pc. i know you can have two of the same kind, but don't know much about 2 different kinds. if it is possible, how would it perform? i'm probably looking for a 250-350 dollar range gpu and if the 650 ti will boost it by even a few fps, i think it'd be worthwh

OpenSSL vulnerability there was a massive hack over the past few days and it was discovered today. pretty much every website could've been compromised including nexon. the leak allowed for the hacker to get into websites databases WITHOUT the security encryptions thru users which means pretty much everything was at risk if you got caught up in it. though it obviously wasn't done specifically for maplestory, the account data could've been stolen and downloaded and it could be sold to someone who's willing to pay for it. the mojang team confirmed that their servers were broken into, haven't seen anything from nexon yet though. this should only affect you if you've logged in in the last 3 or so days i believe, though. even if that's the case,

how to extract data from a dead hard drive i dug up my old laptop that died a few years back and since i'm bored, i wanted to play with the hard drive a bit. if my memory serves me right, the hard drive is what failed on the laptop. something went wrong somewhere and it sent me to that thing on windows where it tries to recover damage done to your hard drive by factory resetting it. i tried recovering it a few times so i could keep my files and that didn't work, so i tried factory resetting a few times and that didn't work, either. for something to do, i was wondering if there was any data that survived that i can recover, but don't know how i should approach it. i already took the hard drive out of the laptop and i have another working lap

laptop broken help i bought a new laptop a week ago and it's already broken. i didn't really mess with the laptop til last night when i started transferring stuff to it. before that, all i did was get on youtube. today i got on my laptop to encrypt the files and before i got started, the laptop turned off. i turned it back on and it instantly said something was wrong and it was gonna try to fix the problem but then the screen glitched out so i turned it off again. i tried to turn it back on and the monitor wouldn't turn on this time. the computer let out 4 loud beeps over and over. i looked it up and it seems like it's either a ram or motherboard problem. if i take the computer back to the store, i'm willing to bet they're gonna snoop aroun

question about computer privacy i accidently deleted a file that included some personal info. as some of you know, when you delete files, they usually won't actually delete until you need the space and they can be recovered with some softwares. i need to recover the files, but as i said, there was some personal info on it that i'd rather not be sold to some company in china. are there laws that prohibit the software companies for this type of thing to spy on your files that you recover? i don't exactly want someone having access to my personal info if i decide to recover those files. are they allowed to see the stuff that i've redownloaded?

need a new laptop i'm looking to buy a new laptop soon as this one is junk and probably going to die soon. the big question i've been considering is whether to buy a laptop now, or to wait until black friday/cyber monday and buy one. that's a month and a half away and i'm pretty sure i can keep this computer kicking for that long. i've never really done any shopping on black friday/cyber monday so i don't know if it's even worth it to wait in hopes of finding a better deal on a laptop. i want to find a laptop that's around $500 ish. not on a $500 max budget, so i can definitely go higher if there's a really nice deal. i wouldn't be trying to run GTA 5 on max settings or anything on it, i just want a laptop that i can watch movies/videos in
