Wow avast eats a lot of your internet connnection I did a test to see how my internet preformed with/without avast pro antivirus free trial. Mozilla Firefox. CCleaner was used before each test. Speedtest.net was the website I used Test 1: Without Avast Pro my speed was about 10mbps Test 2: With Avast Pro my speed was about 3.7mbps Test 3: With Avast Pro in silent/gaming mode and all shields deactivated my speed was about 9mbps I was really surprised by these results and didn't expect such a big difference.
Help no video on newly built pc I just finished building my computer and I tried starting it bu there is no video, no light on mouse, but I think the light on the keyboard flashes, what could be the problem. Specs. Motherboard: MSI H55M-E33, dual channel ddr3 ram, i5-760. The fans start and motherboard lights start but there is nothing on the screen. EDIT: No light on keyboard but everything hooked up works except those things. I tried swaping the memory modules and only puting one and stuff still nothing.
How do I make this? My house has very bad cellphone reception and my room seems to be the worst. What I want to make is something that takes cellphone signals from somewhere strong, carry them across a wire, then transmit them to the desired spot. I don't have any spare cash to buy a range extender so this was what I thought up. Any idea's on how to make this? I was thinking just hooking up two antennas but I doubt this would work.
So I just got BSOD about 5 mins ago I got BSOD. Everything is normal and I just did a virus scan 3 days ago and haven't went on anything but FB and basil. I built this comp my self and have had no problems until that. I couldn't read the error message because it was only there for about 2 seconds so idk.
I don't understand memory 1.If I had 1 512mb ram stick in a motherboard, would I have to install another ram stick that is also 512 mb and the same speed? not dual channel board 2.For dual channel if I had 2 sticks of 2gb (4gb total) could I add another 2sticks or 1gb each (2gb total) at a different speed?
Best paid antivirus? So my dad asked me what antivirus I was using I said avast free. He said free antivirus aren't the best. So I thought he was implying that I should buy a paid antivirus, so which one should I get?
How to keep this laptop cool? I have and HP Pavillion DV2000, you know, the one with the faulty GPU causing it to overheat. I tried to open it up but stupid hp has some damaged screws on there which causes the screw driver to slip and you can't open them -.- so I can't put thermal paste on the gpu and cpu . I was thinking of taking some of the panels off and buying this laptop cooler;pagenumber=1&RSort=1&csid=ITD&recordsPerPage=5&body=#ReviewStart so air can get into the laptop and keep it cooler. The max I'll play on the laptop is maplestory and some boxhead bounty hunter. Ashampoo firewall still on pc? I tried downloading Kaspersky Internet security 2011 but it says I still have ashampoo firewall on pc. I uninstalled it like 1 year ago and I only got it to try it out. I got rid of the program file but it still shows the message. I searched for it on my pc but no results. What do I do?
Would I need a better cpu fan for overclocking I am using Intel i5-760 at 2.8 ghz. My motherboard has some switches for easy overclocking so I was thinking of overclocking soon. With the switches I can get to 3.36 ghz. I am currently using the fan provided by Intel, so would I need to get a better one and if so which one. I don't want to spend to much on the fan.
Would this be a good idea? I was thinking of starting a business on building computers. I could build a computer and add 50 - 100 dollars onto it to make money. If I built a comp for $950 and added $100 to that it would make it $1050 while at a store like bestbuy it would be around $1400. I could get loans from my parents and pay them back when I sell the pc. I would personalize each computer to fit the costumers needs and have it built pretty quickly. It would probably take me 1 1/2 hour max to build the computer and I have built computers before. This is just something on the side I can do on top of school. Any ideas on taking out damaged laptop screw? I want to use my sisters old laptop but HP poorly designed the cooling system for the GPU. I want to add a copper shim and some thermal paste to replace the cheap thermal foam that was put in. The problem is there is a damaged screw which I can not take out and is the only thing stopping me from using this laptop. What I mean by poorly designed is that the GPU is 70 - 80 C on idle. I know people have been able to drop there temperatures by 20C by the method I mention. If I don't fix this the GPU has the potential to fry the motherboard.
Malwarebytes now has a real time shield! I updated my malwarebytes to find that it now has a real time shield. It's about time they added this and this should make malware protection easier on our part. What are your thoughts?
