Upgrading my CPU Hey Basilmarket! So, I like to play video games on my laptop. But the one thing holding me back is a weak processor. So i want to replace it. But i don't know if its possible. I've heard of people replacing my processor (Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P7450 3M Cache, 2.13 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) with either a: ~Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P9700 (6M Cache, 2.80 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) ~Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8700 (3M Cache, 2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) or a ~Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8600 (3M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) I believe they all run under a similar wattage, voltage, and socket (Socket P FCBGA6)... If it helps, the laptop i have is an Asus g50vt x-5. Thanks for your help!
Suggestions for a tablet? Hey everyone! So I'm in the market for a tablet right now and i've been looking at a bunch of them, but i don't know whats the best i could get... Money is no problem (i can save forever :D) and i'll probably be using it for internet, reading, movies, etc... The most important feature for me is that it has to have a decent battery life (6hrs +) and it has to be flash able (so no ipads)... also if some modding is required to make it work correctly, i don't mind as i am pretty tech savvy... So can you recommend me one and/or educate me on how much of a difference a tegra 2 is compared to a single core 1ghz processor?

Ditching My G-Tablet for a new tablet Hey everyone, I bought a Viewsonic G-Tablet a few months ago (at the wrong time -_-) and have been pretty satisfied with it. I had a few gripes such as the poor... i mean TERRIBLE viewing angles, the fact that no roms support the DUAL core of the tegra 2 (you're limited to only 1 core), and the cheap construction feel... along with the fact that i have had to install custom roms on it to even GET it to work functionally. The problem with this is that i've almost had enough. So i went to best buy and looked at some of the new tablets to be released recently (Asus transformer, Acer iconia, toshiba tab 10.1, etc.) And i'm wondering if its worth it to basically pay about 150-200 bucks to upgrade from my old
Can this laptop run these programs So, I'm considering buying a Dell Inspiron Duo as i need something portable like a iPad, but that is actually useful :P I have my laptop that can run all my high intensity games (SC2, Dirt2, etc.) but i want to know if this laptop can run: ~Maplestory ~Minecraft ~Little games like Angry Birds, Pocket Tanks Deluxe, Crayon Physics, and World of Goo. ~possibly SC2 on SUPER LOW settings... If it helps, it has a 1.5ghz dual core atom processor with 2 gb of ddr3 ram, running windows 7... the hard drive spins at 7200 rpm, and the graphics card is a nVidia ion (?) or a integrated card (?)... Please help me my computer died Hey basil, Recently my computer was fine... it was running just like all others, and then i got the blue screen of death. "Oh this is nothing, i've gotten a few before, ill just restart my comp..." i thought but when i restarted it, it got stuck on the boot screen of my computer. I've tried running in safe mode, but it won't respond... ive tried booting from the cd, and nothing happened... i even tried restoring the OS, but nothing responded. I'm about an inch away from madness as this computer represents a majority of all the money I've ever had (about 60%)... Does anyone have any advice?
Anyone with the Asus Transformer TF300/tegra 3 tab, help? Hey, So I am in the market for a tablet. In particular I was looking at the Asus Transformer TF300 because of its combination of price and keyboard add-on. However, I had some questions. Some of them can even be answered by anyone with other Tegra 3 tablets/devices. ~How are the speakers? ~Do you have the white one? If so, does it get dirty easily? ~Is the keyboard comfortable to write a 500-1000 word essay? ~Does it tip over easily with the keyboard dock in? (For any tegra 3) ~How are the games for tegra 3 devices? ~Can they run any *LEGAL* Nintendo DS emulators? ~Is the performance just zippier than say a tegra 2 device or your average smartphone? Dell Inspiron Duo: Crap or Amazing? Hey Basil, I'm in the market for a tablet pc, so I looked at the iPad, but promptly looked elsewhere because of no flash and price. My research henceforth has led me to the Dell inspiron duo. It looks like a cool hybrid between a netbook and a tablet and exactly what I need. GPU Overheating. I've exhausted all ideas PLEASE HELP :( Hey basil tech squad, I'm having problems with my computer. Anytime I play anything even remotely graphically superior to maplestory, my graphics card overheats to between 90 and 110 degrees Celsius. I really need some help. I've tried everything.
