Give me your definition of quotover-poweredquot and when the act of being "over-powered" becomes a problem, if you feel that it even is a problem in the first place; if you don't feel that it is a problem, say why. To me, it seems that although the scope remains generally the same, people seem to have their own interpretations and opinions regarding the term. Do you feel that it is a problem? Do you feel that there are some sort of misconceptions people have about the term? Are there some certain, specific guidelines that need to be met for it to be applied? I'm rather curious. I know that there is an on-going thread about this right now, but I felt like this was slightly different, and I didn't want to start a whole

Trigger new show Pv Source material - Well after KLK (not) saving anime and Little Witch Academia getting nothing, TRIGGER is making this. Personally I'd have to agree with everybody that KLK was only mediocre at best, but I think that it was a decent enough start for them, however this looks a little less balls-to-the-wall. If you compare this to their other two shows, the art went in a completely different (and less original, imo) direction. I'm following the studio because it's fairly new, but with this, it doesn't seem like they're trying to make anything special, and quite frankly this doesn't really even look as promising or as hype as KLK did before it started airing. Thoughts?

Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de aru So, the series ended about a month ago, but I figured I might as well make a thread about it considering I didn't really see many people on Basil discussing it that much. Honestly, I didn't really have any interest in this show; at first glance it looked like a Madoka Magica ripoff (quite frankly, I didn't actually like that show that much either), and then I found out it was written by the same person who wrote Akame ga Kill, so I pretty much decided to stay away even further. However, despite that, I've actually seen quite a lot of discussion on various other places regarding the show, so I decided to check it out on a whim to see what the hype was about, and was surprised to find myself actually enjoyi

Guess the anime character - forum game EDIT: After the end of round 42, this thread will no longer be updated or monitored. It has been fun Hello friends. In an attempt to raise activity on /90/ I'm going to start a little forum game. Let's hope this doesn't end in failure. The point simple; the poster who is "it" must think up of an anime character, and everybody else has to guess who it is by asking yes or no questions about them. Think Akinator or 20 Questions, but there is no limit to how many questions can be asked. Once the character is guessed, the one who guessed correctly becomes "it," and will think up of their own character. Note that you don't necessarily have to ask questions about the c

Common tropes that you feel need to stop Hey guys, I figured there's a lot of threads about individual anime and stuff like that but I felt like starting a discussion about general things. This might be the first of many, but we'll see. So, I wanted to ask you guys; what are some of your personal pet peeves with shows? As in, what are some tropes or themes that you guys feel can potentially bring an anime down? Here's a small list of things that I don't typically like; I'll try to refer to some recent or well-known anime as examples of these. Expect light spoilers. 1. Unfulfilled romance. This is usually something you see in harems or love triangles. Somebody falls in love with somebody else, but by the end of the story what happens?

What animes or mangas have a good storyline? I really enjoy a good storyline, whether it comes to games, movies, tv shows, or any other media. But right now I'm looking for animes/mangas that have good storylines to them. I really enjoy TWGOK and Mirai Nikki, but it's quite rare that I find an anime that has a storyline and character development that I could get into. So, please recommend something to me. Note: Try to keep away from action oriented animes, I don't really like them, or at least try to pick one that doesn't completely revolve around the fights (I guess you could call Mirai Nikki action oriented, but it doesn't revolve around fight scenes like some other animes out there). Also, I really like the comedy genre, so keep that in
